Essential for realistic Marineflieger ops in the Baltic sea. Can't really understand why they are missing, especially if we consider that the respective  Tornado and F-104 modules are currently developed. Some naval assets (ships) from the era would be also amazing.

The Marineflieger Geschwader 1 (MFG 1) from Schleswig/Jagel was the first operational unit of the Bundeswehr to be equipped with the Tornado. By 1978, the squadron had flown 145,000 flight hours on the F-104, of which approx. 112,000 were on the F-104 G. It is simply a must to include this airport.
I therefore assume that it will be included in phase 2 or 3 of the map development.

Many (read: all) airbases in Schleswig-Holstein are missing, but +1.

Eggebek (EDCG/ETME) and Schleswig-Jagel [EDCS (196x-1995), ETNS (1995-)] should be added too...

...in addition to:
Hohn AB (LTG 63, C-160 Transall)
Husum AB (JaboG 41, Fiat G.91, Alpha Jet)
Leck AB (AG 51, RF-4E)
Itzehoe-Hungriger Wolf AB (HFlgRgt 6, UH-1D, Bo-105P, Bo-105M)
Kiel Heliport (MFG 5, Sea King)

And ofc it's Eggebek, not Eggebeck as i have written in the tittle. Fliegerhorst Eggebek, MFG2. (Foto: Marine/ MFG2/ Bildzug)

Btw it is possible to edit a title, just act like you want to edit the first post and there you go.

You might want to change "Jaggel",  too.

  • jaguara5 changed the title to Eggebek and Jagel Air Bases

Didn't knew that was possible. Thx!

It has been requested before, but on this occasion I would like to reiterate that it would be awesome, not least for our pilot friends from Denmark, if Skrydstrup Airbase in Southern Jutland could be added as well. Its geographic latitude is less than Copenhagen Kastrup and Malmö airports which are included, and it used to be an important F-16 base and essential part of the BALTAP command:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fighter_Wing_Skrydstrup

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outline_of_the_Danish_Armed_Forces_at_the_end_of_the_Cold_War

This would also allow for a more coherent inclusion of the airbases in Schleswig-Holstein.

Thank you  🙏🙏🙏

I agree. But i'm afraid, if we request to much we won't get anything. There are already request to expand the map to north, south, east and west.  Eggebek, Jagel, Wittmund and Jever are IMO the absolute bare minimum essential bases that should  be added  in the map.

Yeah, the ones you mentioned including Wittmund are absolutely crucial for cold war ops from the northern part and well into the Baltic Sea.

FWIW, this is the current state of the northern german airfields.

This is what Jever looks like - pretty much a pit of dirt:

Wittmund also just a pit of dirt:
