skywalker22 Posted Friday at 07:38 AM Posted Friday at 07:38 AM As far as I know, the only thing that has recently changed is functionalty of the MIDS switch, which you have to put from OFF to ON after the alignment is done (not before) for Datalink to work. So move the MIDS switch to ON, after putting the INS switch to NAV mode.
speed-of-heat Posted Friday at 02:26 PM Author Posted Friday at 02:26 PM no that not what the issue i am seeing. once you turn on MIDS, DLNK automatically switches to GPS, in the past you would have to select DLNK and set it to GPS, indeed it's documented that way in Chucks Guide. speed-of-heat Posted Friday at 02:51 PM Author Posted Friday at 02:51 PM Here's a track , as you can see DLNK is automatically set to GPS, in the past it required you to select it ? @BIGNEWY Is this a bug or a change in behaviour? DLNK automatically set to GPS .trk SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
skywalker22 Posted Friday at 03:24 PM Posted Friday at 03:24 PM It seems to me that you are mixing 2 things here: datalink and gps. These are 2 different things. GPS is for navigation, while Datalink is a combination of Link16 and MIDS radio and is meant for exchanging data among other aircrafts which are in the same network. But since Datalink also requires GPS to be sync-ed, I suppose that's why you can only turn MIDS on, after alignement is complete. Thats how I understand that, but I might be wrong.
speed-of-heat Posted Friday at 04:26 PM Author Posted Friday at 04:26 PM (edited) No, Im not mixing them up ... but i may not be explaining myself clearly ... GPS TIME: OFF should be the default state ... it's now ON... this is a change in behaviour ...
