Gunfreak Posted May 12 Posted May 12 This would be pretty standard for artillery during ww2 and throughout the cold war. But I'm unsure if any artillery in DCS. Can fire that or if it always has to be done with triggers or aircraft dropping flares. 2 i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
Kappa-06MHR Posted October 17 Posted October 17 It's possible to simulate that with a lua script. Capture the event fire, the target emplacement, remove the weapon and create flares at the position 1
NoJoy Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I had a similar request shortly and that's how I got it done with some help: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/378554-battlefield-illumination/#comment-5690374 Brrrrrrrrrrrt I'd rather call in a Strike Eagle... I7 6700K, MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon, 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw V 3200, Inno3D GTX 1080, Samsung 970 Evo, Thrustmaster 1.6000M, TrackIr 5
upyr1 Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Right now we only have high explosive shells. More shells types is one of the things I want to see changed with artillery. I'd also like to have AI forward observers (both land and airborne)

I use the illumination flare trigger to simulate illum rounds. You set up a trigger zone for the areas you want the rounds to be at and can set the altitude they "deploy". They fall pretty slow.
