esequiel Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Hello, Firstly according to the DCS manual : Quote When performing a Normal Gyrocompass Alignment, the current latitude, longitude, and altitude of the aircraft must be input within two minutes after the alignment has been initiated. The true heading is determined automatically. If any of these data values are accurate in that they already reflect the current latitude, longitude, and/or altitude of the aircraft, they must still be confirmed by setting the DED asterisks around the data field and pressing ENTR on the ICP. If the latitude, longitude, and altitude are not input (or confirmed) within two minutes after the alignment has been initiated, the alignment will fail and will automatically restart. Currently, if you do not confirm the values, the alignment succeeds and the ins does not restart. Secondly : Quote OFF. Removes power from the INS. The INS knob should remain in this position on aircraft power for a minimum of 10 seconds before moving the INS knob from OFF or shutting down the aircraft. After a successful full alignment, if you turn off the navigation system (INS) for more than 10 seconds and then turn it back on norm, the alignment will not restart. The DED indicates a successful alignment. However, if you switch to NAV mode, you will not get any FPM and the aircraft will be difficult to fly. If you turn it back on norm and confirm the GPS coordinates, the navigation system will restart. But still no FPM after alignment. You have to perform an in-flight alignment to recover the FPM (even on the ground). ins.trk 1

CybrSlydr Posted June 16 Posted June 16 (edited) Does this apply if you're doing an autostart as well? Because I've been having major issues with the F-16 autopilot on the Kola map using DCS Retribution. I autostart the F-16, wait for it to go through the autotstart sequence, complete with INS Alignment Complete, yet the autopilot will not follow the steerpoints. Heck, the steerpoints on the HSD will even disappear eventually. I also have no FPM, it's glued to the gun boresight on the HUD. Is this the problem I'm running into? That I have to confirm my GPS coordinates on the DED after the INS aligns else it essentially kills my INS fix? I haven't played DCS in a long time, so this is new to me if so. It's a fresh install, the only mods are CH's asset packs to use with Retribution. LastMissionTrack.trk Edited June 16 by CybrSlydr
