Hi!

I would like to introduce my CWG Sandbox.

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3344728/

It is basically 70, yes seventy, quick missions rolled into one mission file. Each slot equals one quick mission. The tasks range from simple intercepts, to deep strikes into highly defended enemy territory.
All SAM sites provided by the map are populated with the correct SAM type (to the best of my knowledge).
In total there are 50 quick missions for USAFE, RAFG and Luftwaffe and 20 quick missions for Soviet and GDR forces.

Mission distances range from 70 to 700 nautical miles.

USAFE
A-10A               5 slots operating our of Wiesbaden (FOL)
A-10C II            5 slots operating out of Sembach
F-4E                 5 slots operating out of Ramstein
F-4E                 5 slots for pseudo F-4G operating out of Spangdahlem
F-15C               5 slots out of Bitburg
F-16C               5 slots for a pseudo F-16A operating out of Hahn

RAFG
Harrier             5 slots for pseudo GR.3 operating out of road bases
Harrier             5 slots for pseudo GR.5 operating out of road base and Gütersloh
F-4E                5 slots for pseudo FGR-2  operating out of Gütersloh

Luftwaffe
F-4E                5 slots for a pseudo initial and Peace rhine F-4F out of Bremen (stand-in for Wittmund) and Pferdsfeld

NVA LSK-LV
MiG-21            5 slots out of Peenemünde and Laage

GSSD
MiG-21            5 slots out of Damgarten and Wittstock
MiG-29           5 slots out of Merseburg (full fidelity AND FC3)
Su-25              5 slots out of Kothen

Features:
+ 70 slots with one quick mission each
+ slots for A-10A, A-10CII, F-4E, F-15C, F-16C, MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-25
+ realstically populated Air defense sites
+ F10 options to enable/disable enemy AD
+ F10 options to spawn enemy QRA
+ measures to reduce performance impact
+ manual in PDF format
+ mission overview sheet in PDF format
+ recommend skins list

Enjoy!

P.S.: You can add planes to an existing group or swap the aircraft type, as long as the initial group/unit name is not altered.

Sounds good to me😉👍.

Keep an eye on Detmold, 4. Regiment AAC, amongst others 652 Squadron for all I know, Gazelle and Lynx.

Yeah thanks a lot for that mission (package).

Was surprised that there are no quick start missions comming with the Phantom II for GCW map (yet), so I was more than happy to try out yours and I like it a lot. Feels great to start out of Pferdsfeld and heading towards the east. Thanks for your efforts!

No RCAF bases on the map yet. When they are and the Starfighter is out, I might add some. No plans for the Hornet though from my side.

Hey Don, I loaded up your sandbox last night but was a little confused as to how to get the missions or what I was supposed to do once I got the plane up and flying? Do I do it all through the F10 menus or is each slot assigned a certain mission? I’m trying to use the mission and make a video for YouTube and show off how this all works. Thank you!! Oh and lastly is it okay if I change all the planes and helo’s on your other missions to Hotstart? Thank again!!!

Oops after looking in the ZIP file I saw the mission PDF which makes things a littler easier to understand! I didn’t see that before. So does each mission that is assigned to a specific aircraft have all the information regarding target size, look etc in their Kneeboards or do you just wing it so to say? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure I fully understand this so I don’t tell people the wrong thing on the video. I’ll probably choose a couple different aircraft to show the different mission sets. Thanks again. Oh BTW I just posted a video of your Operation Firestorm. I still haven’t beet that thing!! I made some really dumb mistakes, George refused to fire and got my rearend handed to me!! Love the mission though. Part one and Part Two are up!! Love the missions! Thank you

Hi 🙂

yes, you can set all the slots to hot start. In my Kola Sandbox I had two versions, one cold and one hot, but that was a pain in the rear to maintain, so I dropped the hot start version.
All mission relevant data is in the mission overview PDF, it tells you what your target is and the weapons.

For instance USA F-4E Slot 4: Seek & destroy Shilka near Bebra (TPOD) with Mavericks

image.png

If you are supposed to attack a very specific target, like USSR MiG-21 Slot 3: Attack bridge near Boizenburg (238°, 157km)

image.png
then the main manual will provide a target photo of it

Screen_250430_181110_Boizenburg Kopie.jpg

Hope this helps?

Looking forward to the OP Firestorm videos (I have the notification turned on 🙂 ). It is basically a very simple and straightforward mission, but it took me many tries to finally fly it to the end. Problem always was a lack of discipline. It could be so easy - call SEAD, wait for confirmation, keep distance, check George's yellow list with the TADS zoom function - boom TOS gone. But our ego has other plans - "I can do this on my own!" 😉 (...and there is still the secondary task waiting)

The Operation Firestorm mission seems like it would be an easy thing, Ike you mention but I still can’t get it!! My first try was really bad. I flew way too high and got dropped, as I should have!! The second I couldn’t get George to shoot on the target!! Then since he wouldn’t fire I got confused and thought maybe they were friendly and as I closed the distance I paid the price Again!!! Ughh!! I love it though!! I’ll post a Part three when I actually finish it which I’m hoping is very soon!

I flew a few slots on your Rototheads Sandbox and had a lot of fun with it!! What a great idea and you put so much work into it! I looked at the mission in the ME and it blew my mind how much stuff is in there!! I did run into an issue that I wanted to ask you or point out. In the RED missions with the Mi24P Hind where you attack the Tank platoon on the front; The ground units do not shoot at each other nor did the Blue side shoot at me in the Hind, even when I flew right over them. Is that a setting I am supposed to set or choose or is that how it’s supposed to be? On other missions like in the Kiowa they definitely shot back at me! Big time!!! So I wanted to ask you about this. Thank you and thanks for making these missions, such a great idea!! I hope you make one for Afghanistan since it’s such a cool map!! This is a perfect mission idea for people who get DCS and just don’t know what to do in it or don’t want to spend the time in the ME to make a mission. This allows you to choose from a ton of different missions and it’s a lot of fun!!! Thank you again.
