I've tried everything. Reinstalled DCS, installed steam edition (unbounded the modules), updated to windows 11, removed all mods, configured the corrects windows features, like disabling game mode, and so on. And pretty much everything else you can think of.

I think dcs isn't managing the my cpu cores correctly because core 1 is always at 100% e then freezes the entire PC and i need to restart it manually.

A quick question: one core was at 100% when landed on the main dashboard or in the flight?

I am also a steam user, and I am not sure that there is lots of differences between standalone and steam.

I do see one core slightly higher CPU usage than other cores while I am at the main dashboard.  All P-cores are kind almost same loads while I am in the flight.

Spoiler

What version of DCS was fine prior to this occurring? Your log shows a driver 56633.DLSS Enabler for your AMD card. Seems like a mod of some description for DLSS-like support? Have you tried removing that as well? Probably unrelated.

Your log file shows your Preload Radius is at the 150000 max, drop that to 60000.

Run the Windows DxDiag tool, save the report, and drop that here as well.

It starting occuring in the standalone version.

With or whitout dlss enabler it happens.

The preload Radiius is at 15000 because i renamed the dcs folder in savedgames, and then it create a new default settings folder.

Just out of curiosity...

When DCS freezes, and if you have a folder open or any other windows on the desktop while playing, does Alt+Tab to cycle between DCS and other windows, makes the freeze go away?

Quando o DCS congela, e se você tiver uma pasta aberta ou qualquer outra janela na área de trabalho enquanto joga, Alt+Tab para alternar entre o DCS e outras janelas faz o congelamento desaparecer?

Not , the pc freezes completely.

Oh, damn!

I had stutters and freezes after the latest DCS core update, and the game log file started by saying i had parked cpu cores. The only way i got to unpark them, was turning off the E-cores in the BIOS (it's a 12th gen intel i7 processor). Apparently, i have no more problems in DCS, and in another game as well, that i was having problems before

I am wondering if we can disable launcher at startup.

Not sure the following thread can off the load of some mods at startup:

folks Its always best to create new threads if you are seeing issues and attach your dcs logs, from experience I know it wont necessarily be the same issue.

If we have some data we can look for clues.

thanks

It's time for ED to hard lock some options depending on hardware.

This happens regardless of how new the hardware is. There are several reports here on the forum.

Hi,

Yes, I've updated it. The last version that works without freezes for me is the DCS 2.9.13.6818.2

dcs.log 73.7 kB · 5 downloads dcs.log.old 1.79 kB · 2 downloads debrief.log 55.02 kB · 2 downloads

the dcs log above is from a previous version, and the .old one only gets as far as the launcher, it never starts dcs.

I really need to see a dcs log from the updated dcs and started into at least the main menu.

If you have not already rename your dcs folder in saved games, keep it as a backup.

ryn a slow repair of dcs after you have updated to make sure there are no mods or edits.

then restart dcs and retry, please load into the main menu ( not launcher )

thank you

When you did the test the mod was only disabled or totally uninstalled? Can you upload a log with DLSS Enabler not running?

Yikes. I might be seeing a very similar issue with a 9950x3d and I'm on the latest patch. This is quite game breaking as DCS is software that needs supportive background software like SRS, Buttkicker/SimShaker, and VoiceAttack. I'm using a new build and haven't done anything other than enable EXPO memory settings (6000mhz) in BIOS. Everything else is pretty standard with no overclock; PBO isn't even enabled. Clock ratio is set to "all core" and not "per CCX" (most likely will be changing to this): CPU temps are great with an AIO cooler that gets me CPU idle at 45 degrees C; while all of the below is happening maybe CPU goes to 73 degrees C). My observations:

  • I can usually see one or two cores fully at 100% during these lockups.
  • DCS itself will become less responsive in menus.
  • Windows itself is largely unresponsive. Most apps won't even render updates not to speak of responding to interactions
  • Mouse keeps moving (woo!)
  • Background app specific behavior:
    • TrackIR doesn't seem disrupted in the background; if the main window is up rendering won't update
    • ButtKicker Hapticonnect DCS integration is sluggish and 2-3 seconds delayed per effects
    • SimShaker remains responsive
    • VoiceAttack is crazy unresponsive. Though the mic level response is there and shows, speech recognition is delayed more than several seconds. Sometimes even up to 15 seconds later before seeming to recognize speech and confirming a command

This behavior does not always instantly start as soon as DCS opens, and I may be able to run inside a mission for a few minutes before this happens. But when it starts happening, it doesn't matter if I exit outside of the mission and try to access the basic menus of DCS itself. Everything just bogs down until DCS is closed. At times, it feels like I can alt-tab out and maybe eventually my system is more responsive, but usually not. I have to do more testing around that.

I hope this gets fixed very soon, and the only reason I'm pretty unbothered is because I have a ton of input configuration and tool set up before I actually start trying to refresh my flying, procedures, knowledge, and play missions in earnest.

Quando você fez o teste, o mod estava apenas desabilitado ou totalmente desinstalado? Você consegue enviar um log com o DLSS Enabler inativo?

I have no mods. As for dlss enabler, it doesn't make a difference, i've tried many times without it.

"DLSS Enabler" is a mod! Since it can screw a lot of things consider using the troubleshooting command lines found here https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/757 .
