Sorry for my english.

 

I found this helicopter armed with these weapons in a multiplayer server. He shot from distances exceeding 20 kms. What weapon is this?

No more cheating after 1.01...Guess he's gonna hafta learn how not to die all over again...What a cheese ball...

Until we see the mechanism we wont know if it will be an effective countermeasure against the kind of modification some of these people use. ;)

 

Btw, I've seen some people launch S-8 rockets (for soft targets) and kill M1A2 Abrams with 1 or two rockets. So it's much harder to spot if someone is cheating - they look like they are carrying a legal loadout, but they have changed the effect of the legal weapons.

Unfortunately, i have seen this too in online servers.. the last i saw had a super-powerfull gun. Demolish entire buidings with only one shot... also the most acuracy gun a ever saw, he took us all down (TK) with only one shot.

Holy shit, Mavericks are really huge :surprise:. Compared to helicopter.

 

He uses ATAKA also.

Not to flame or get some in return. But would it be feasible to implement some type of anti cheat system for multiplayer? Like punkbuster?...

I've seen no mentions about MP anti hack. Unless I might be blind or maybe already proven un-efficient....

I don't think it was in the readme but several pages in they say that now you can have the server check certain files to make sure they haven't been tampered with when someone joins the server...

You know, I've noticed an alternative method to load LUA. It's documented in the game for that sake.

Which means Im concerned about variables (or functions stored in memory for that sake) changed / loaded from standalone files outside the DCS structure.

Which may be changed on the fly - in the air - without touching the DCS content.

Looking forward to 1.01 patch to clean the cheaters out of the sky. I haven't flown in a public server for couple months, as the last time the entire group I was flying with kept getting tk'd by an "Unknown" player with a similar loadout to that.

 

Until 1.01 - Private servers are the way to go, imo...
