On a side note, ARR-2 system works in the 234-258 MC (Carrier signal MHz UHF) or 540-830 KC, (modulated CW Khz), not in the V/HF range (100-399Mhz) AFAIK.

WIP?

It seems that only the arc-5 is functional, using the 190khz frequency hardcoded in the Eesex.

AAR-2 and the presets… I think that it’s WiP and not functional in the carrier. Frequency range in the ME is outside the limits of the ARR-2 IRL.

I don’t have the module but I have an idea.. can you set in the preset tab in the ME a VOR frequency of an airfield (in the Caucasus for example)? Or set a unit transmitting a signal?

That's worth a try. Great idea man.

Where did you get the info about the 190khz and the Essex?

From the manual, the presets can be set to the traffic frequency of an airfield (e.g. 121MHz at Rene Mouawad). This currently works in game. For the carrier, setting one of the ARR-2 presets to the carrier frequency in the mission editor works fine, and gives the "NAV" name and bearing.

I've found setting the 190KHz doesn't work according to the manual- with the Essex carrier in the mission on Marianas WW2 for example, 190 gives "AGA" for Agana airfield.

Following that tutorial to a T still doesn't work for me.

The only way I receive ANY transmission is with the B switch on the C-38 to ON, the dial on the C-26 at or around 190, and the CW-Voice switch on the C-26 set to VOICE.

And by placing air starts all around, I figured out that this signal comes from Agana, on guam.

I did manage to get this to work on the essex carrier today. For whatever ungodly reason it didn't ever before I can't say.

- Mission editor carrier frequency set to 250.

- #1 ARC-5 and ARR-2 presets for the corsair both set to 250.

- C-38 REC "C" to ON

- CW/VOICE on C-38 to VOICE

- C-38 sensitivity up to max.

- Wait a few minutes and do not touch anything else.

It appears to transmit "N-A-N," but does give the proper directional signal as I orbit the carrier.

Now that I see how it works, it's mighty cool.
