markturner1960 Posted Tuesday at 06:34 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:34 PM I am installing DCS on a new PC. I have installed the core game, the Nevada map, the F18, the F4 & Syria. I am trying to install Afghanistan, Germany, the F14 and the Harrier. I have set the download going twice now and come back to the machine and its not installed the 4 modules. I tried just installing the Tomcat, I get an updater message saying its found 4700 files in downloads totaling 216GB that it does not need and gives me the option to delete or cancel. I already chose "delete" once and started the install progress again..... If I cancel, the install just stops. Not sure how to proceed....it seems to have downloaded the files needed, but cant install the modules? Cheers System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted Tuesday at 06:38 PM ED Team Posted Tuesday at 06:38 PM Hi, if you cancel the download the next time you start the download DCS will check for what you already have and continue. As to why its not installing its difficult to say, please ensure your antivirus isnt creating a problem, and attach your autoupdate_log.txt from the root install, it may have some clues thanks 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Always there is an antivirus active, if Windows detects that you have not installed an antivirus then it will enable its own Microsoft Defender. I suggest to add a folder exclusion to Defender, so that it does not attempt to "clean" the DCS program folder. Cue some expert that will say such a practice is dangerous 16 minutes ago, markturner1960 said: I chose cancel and reselected the F14 to download and install. I get this error message. Hello, I can't find why your F14 is not downloading, perhaps you should open a support ticket with ED: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/?add=Y 8 minutes ago, markturner1960 said: I added the DCS .exe in bin-mt to the defender allowed apps, is that correct? Not really, that protects just a single file from the antivirus action .. you need to exclude the whole DCS program folder (not the one at /Saved Games) .. on my PC its like this: 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

MAXsenna Posted Tuesday at 09:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:27 PM Having trouble finding that in settings.....whats the correct place to find that ? In the windows defender allow an app through firewall, it only lets me choose files, not a folder Don't mess with the firewall. It's got nothing to do with Anti-Virus. Look at Rudel's picture. Basically it's under settings and security. Maybe just search in the settings for "exclusions". Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
markturner1960 Posted Wednesday at 08:25 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:25 AM I did look before I posted, but could not see anything about exclusions.
