Morat Posted August 25 Posted August 25 I have a strange issue. Whenever I "Quit to Desktop" from the DCS menu, the game exits in VR but hangs on my desktop and never exits. This is a bit annoying as I have "Cursor confined to Window" enabled. The only way to get out of DCS from this state is to use SteamVR to "Quit VR" which shuts everthing down. It's no big deal if you're just playing, but quite the pain if you're testing and changing settings! Has anyone else seen this?
WS Posted August 25 Posted August 25 (edited) I use task manager (hold down control, shift, and escape all at the same time) and then pick DCS, and then indicate "end task". Edited August 25 by WS

I have something similar but use a macro on my keyboard. TAIPAN_ Posted Monday at 10:34 AM Posted Monday at 10:34 AM Yeah DCS has been like this for over 2 years now. It just kind of exits half way. I just figured it was one of those low priority things they won't fix so I ignore it and just task manager.. too hard to report every thing so I just report the major problems. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted Monday at 10:57 AM ED Team Posted Monday at 10:57 AM I have tried to reproduce this, but all seems ok here, are you sure you are waiting long enough for the application to close? Please repeat and add the dcs log from the session we can look for clues. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Flyingfish Posted Monday at 03:35 PM Posted Monday at 03:35 PM I think it's a problem with using Meta Quest with turbo mode active in openxr toolkit. Same with the game crashing when you take your headset off RTX 5090, AMD 9800x3D, 64GB Ram, Quest Pro, Windows 11
FatCap Posted Monday at 04:01 PM Posted Monday at 04:01 PM Same issue and also use task manager to close DCS in desktop. Not 100% sure but my issue seemed to start a few months ago when quest 3 stopped launching Link/PCVR without stop/starting Oculus service, this is widely reported in a lot of Quest forums and Meta seem to have no interest in fixing. Love my Quest 3 but willl be moving to another headset shortly due to poor PCVR support - probably PCL or S.
Morat Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago (edited) @BIGNEWY I loaded to the hangar/menu screen and then quit from the menu. I waited 5 minutes after quitting and then quit SteamVR using a controller. During that time, the DCS window remained open and my mouse cursor was still confined to the DCS window. I kept the HMD awake by putting my thumb over the sensor. For reference I was using a PSVR2, although I suspect SteamVR is more likely to be at fault here.
