Wishlist: F-14 RIO calls "Going Pitbull"

Hi,

I am wondering that can RIO call a "Going Pitbull" while AIM-54 reaches the target within 16 seconds or 6 seconds (in DCS)? 

So, the pilot does not have track it and go cold after "Going Pitbull".

If you turn on your TID Repeater, when the Phoenix goes pitbull, the target begins to flash, indicating the missile is on its own internal guidance at that point.

Yes, it just makes RIO more human to provide the hint...

What more important thing a pilot during BVR interception would have than watching TID?

I think he's talking about the pilot staying at hot aspect to allow radar to track

The pilot would still use TID for that.

Still, a real RIO would probably call that out, since this is is closely related to his most important job anyways (maintain situational awareness beyond visual range). Also communication is prime.

I think OP doesn't ask for that because it is needed, but because it would be immersive.

I totally agree @Despayre's comment and the TID repeater is a good resource for a pilot.

Just in case the pilot is busy with the SAM launch, a red opponent shows at six suddenly... etc...  RIO can help up a bit.

But, it is okay and it is just a wishlist.

In reality, the RIO would be in charge of the whole intercept, including launching missiles. The pilot would only take over when closing to WVR. Since that's too much to ask from Jester, more callouts is something that's worth considering.

Would've been nice if he could run a few "canned" intercepts at pilot's request. A stern conversion, for example, is a fairly well attested technique that's discussed on open source materials. Since it can be ran by checklist, Jester should be able to do it.

More callouts for missiles like that would be great.  Would they have called it "pitbull" in the Tomcat or would Jester have been more likely to say

 

"First ones active...Second missile went active...Thirds active...Fourth, they're all active now."

I'd rather he call bandit clock code better.  His calls are useless because it seems like he has to say everything in order in his script as it happens.  So when I have out maneuvered a bandit and have him on my nose, he still says "6:00! 6:00 He's gonna fire!"  Can't stand it.
