Qnnrad Posted Wednesday at 04:05 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:05 PM Can we have the original topic unlocked? There were patchnotes regarding this issue today and I'd love to see the discussion going. Quote DCS 2.9.20.15010 change log FM. Tweaked Yaw SCAS: Some users complained about excessive yaw-wobble during control by pedals and in transient modes when the helicopter's SCAS Heading Hold mode is ON. 2
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted Wednesday at 04:26 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:26 PM Got to love the condescending tone / gaslighting of that phrase in the patch notes... Anyway, it's just a band-aid for now until we get the new rotor model - this has all been announced before. 9 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON
Qnnrad Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM Just tried it and I'm happy, looking foward to flying apache again! Today I was able to control yaw in hover taxi as well as in transitions, quite smooth and no erratic violent moves that I'd have to counter. But I was just a "some user who complained", and the fix wasn't needed of course, so maybe it's me who got patched? Let me know what you think. 4

Altitude hold works weird sometimes. I think those things are connected. New rotor model should fix yaw and altitude hold cases. I'm that "some user" too, by the way. 1

ED Team BIGNEWY Posted 8 hours ago ED Team Posted 8 hours ago As mentioned in other threads we are doing some work on the rotor for a future patch. This yaw tweak is an interim tweak while we wait for the main work to be completed. She is certainly handling better now. thanks 2 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Let me know what you think. Apache was messy on the yaw before, really weird, but now is highly controllable and smooth. It is awesome. The many flights with the pre patch handling were golden in the sense that will make many players here absolutely gods at handling the bird now. I'd like to have whatever is most realistic, but I don't mind the tweak so far.
