SynAckFin Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Extremely minor thing I noticed when flying in overcast / rainy weather. The mirrors did not appear to reflect any of the weather. 1
Hiob Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Performance reasons, I suppose. Same for parts of ground clutter, trees, cities etc…… "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
SynAckFin Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 Aye, I wondered about that. I'd rather have performance over some minor details in the mirror that don't matter a whole lot anyway. It was just something random I noticed.
Hiob Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Since mirrors don’t look amazing most of times AND eat performance, I fly with them folded usually anyway. 2 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

Well, the mirrors set to 1024 on MiG-29A Fulcrum are top quality. It's not the same for all modules. Absolutely, there is massive variance in quality amongst modules. Still a performance hit though. But it doesn't bother me to fly without mirrors. Especially if they can be folded away or have nice stand-in's instead of a black void. "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
swartbyron Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I fold my mirrors away as a rule when on the ground and during takeoff or landing to avoid any fps hit theu may cause. They look to good at 1024 every frame it feels a crime to lower the resolution. 2
