Nate--IRL-- Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 i... A10 is new sim that will need buy another serial? Correct A-10 will be a new, seperate sim. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
EtherealN Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Because it will use an updated engine, and it costs a lot of money to develop a simulation of that fidelity wherefore it's not economically feasible to develop as an "addon" if, but addon, you mean a product of reduced price. Their intention is to have multiplayer compatibility, though, but both products will be stand-alone. carlos22cps Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 so i can understand that all modules will be stand alone. Apache, A10 etc... or i'm wrong. Thanks for answer.

nemises Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 so just consider that DCS is the product, and Blackshark is just the first addon module to it...A10 will be the second module to it ...both modules use DCS...the underlying stuff (Mission editor, multiplayer engine, rendering engine, AI, flight dynamics engine, GUI) are all DCS, irrespective of what mudule.. ...at least, that s the theory
Esac_mirmidon Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 For me the important thing is: The flyables would be selected from the same GUI screen like FC in Single Player and Multi Player or i must run different .exe files in different installations to run every module? And if all the flyables shares the same GUI what happens with the serial activation number of each module? " You must think in russian.." joey45 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 yes, just like all of us..... that are not part of ED. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. ED Team f-18hornet Posted August 24, 2009 ED Team Posted August 24, 2009 Yes, they are stand alone, but compatible in multi player. Nate I'd like single player compatible and installed over DCS BS like LOMAC and FC.:joystick: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, GeForce RTX 2080Ti, 32 GB DRAM, HOTAS TM Warthog, FSSB R3 Lighting, MFG Crosswind, Win 10 Pro
-Bazong- Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I'd like single player compatible and installed over DCS BS like LOMAC and FC.:joystick: What difference would it make, other than being able to fly all aircraft from the same GUI? Or am I missing something??
EtherealN Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Technically speaking it might be possible to do that, since there's actually two applications. Now, I have very limited understanding of the internals of the launcher executable, but in principle it should be possible to have it be compatible with both a ka-50 executable as well as an A-10 one. (Aside from memory management one other possible gain in having the two-executable design.) Note of course that I am not really a programmer at all, I have never seen any of the source code, and I have no affiliation with ED that would give me any insight into the particular case, so it is speculation. But yes, it would be convenient to have a combined launcher. Whether it would be convenient enough to merit possible extra development work for ED I don't know. Let's remember that if DCS maintains a good revenue stream and ED is able to keep developing modules it might become very difficult to maintain a single launcher that can be compatible with all possible module combinations in a simple enough way to avoid unforseen bugs. Esac_mirmidon Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 So i need to change every time from .exe to .exe if i want to fly the Ka-50, then the A-10C and then back to the Hokum? EtherealN Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 In singleplayer, yes, but then it's no difference. In multiplayer, yes, since integrating everything into the same simulation EXE can be a big job. Note that this is all speculation on my part.
