Stutters on 9800X3D 96 RAM in MP

My spec Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 96 RAM (6000 GHz 30 CL), 4070 ti (12 Gb), SSD - Samsung 990 PRO 2 Tb.

I have small stutters in the multiplayer. And it's very annoying. This happens most often on earth and when there are many AI scripts on the map (for example, 4YA servers). I've tried on Growling Sidewinder server (just take off) and it will be fine

What I've tried:

• I set the graphical settings to minimum, but it didn't help
• enabled/disabled SMT in bios
• turned on/off EXPO
• overclocked the RAM
• limited FPS (120/ 80)
• turned off the first CPU core
• disabled core parking (C-State - off in Bios)
• reduced the mouse frequency
• turned off my Virpil deviсes and TrackIR
• G-sync on/off
• Fullscreen on/off

What else can I do?

a screenshot from the 4YA server (Iraq), there were only 4 players. But on the map of the Caucasus, where 30+ players are the same.

First go into windows defender and allow DCS folder through the firewall

Along with the main game folder make sure you also add the folder in the saved games area.

Also allow any other programs that you use that ties to the game IE: controllers, SRS, Discord ect.

This would be a good start running down this rabbit hole of DCS.

stupid question you say 96Gb of RAM is that a 2 x 48 kit or something else ? if something else try pulling 2 sticks

I added the entire game disk to the antivirus exception and added the config folder on disk C. I also added DCS to the exception.

I don't use any plugins. I only use DCS-Input-Command-Injector-Quaggles to expand the number of buttons in the control.

2х48. I also temporarily changed RAM to 2x32

Absolutely not! You're confusing firewall and Anti-Virus.

96Gb = 12GB which doesn’t exist as far as I know (edit: might be 8 + 4 I suppose but that’s a weird combination to use these days).

If it’s 96GB, then yes it’s 2x 48GB: I have the same configuration, except my RAM is 6000MT/s and not 6000GHz, which the OP is apparently using… Must be a 12-dimensional quantum kit or something, and I can’t say I’m familiar enough with that to determine if it it could cause stutters

Gb = Giga bit, GB = Giga Byte

1 Byte = 8 bits => 96Gb = 12GB

Get your denominations correct, is what Raven is trying to tell you. Details matter.

Something that could cause stutters while you’re on Earth in MP, is when units spawn in dynamically. We used to mitigate that by placing static units on the map of the same type that the server can spawn in. But this was a good few years ago, so I don’t know if that is still valid today.

Other than that, I suppose scripts could cause it but you’d have to discuss that with the server admin.

I had previously played on the i7 11700 on the 4YA servers and everything was ok. so I guess it's not about the server.

Doesn't matter. Exclude folders in AV, if one wants it to load faster. It won't run faster, probably.
BUT! Absolutely do not open for DCS in the Firewall, unless you are running a server. uPnP will take care of the outbound traffic anyway.

@Raven (Elysian Angel) Omg you have an almost identical PC configuration. Can I ask you to go to the most loaded server in 4YA Caucasus and just take off on a hornet (hot start)? that would help me a lot. Either I'll immediately realize that I'm not the only one with this problem, or I need to do something about my PC.

My CPU passes all the OCCT tests, so it doesn't seem to be the case.

Great! I just tried the game on an i7 13700 64 RAM 3070 ti (this is my wife's PC) and there are no stutters... although the overall FPS is lower than mine. So the problem is either with my PC or with all 9800X3D

I have a 9800X3D with a 4070 and it's fine.  Lots of 9800X3D's in use for DCS so it's likely something with your particular combination.

I just checked that server, but I was alone there and there was no F-18 available, so I took an AV-8B and flew around for a while. No stutters whatsoever and silky smooth frame rate. I can check again later to see if there are more people there at that time.

The things I do to help people out... I joined the busiest server (PvE training I might add) I could see (44 people), hopped into an unarmed Harrier, took off and headed to another friendly airport, and was immediately chased by some nincompoop in an F-15 who decided it's a good idea to shoot me down...

And people wonder why I don't join multiplayer servers...

Anyway, as before: no stutters and silky smooth frame rates.

I also noticed that the stutter appears as someone disconnects from the server or joins the server.
