Michael-Fr Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Hello, I'm having trouble using the F-14 when hot-launching from an aircraft carrier on the KOLA map. If the aircraft carrier is set to 0 degrees, it seems to work. If the aircraft carrier is set to an angle other than 0, it distorts the F-14's heading band, as well as its TACANS. Sincerely, Michael
draconus Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Check if it works fine on other maps. It might be the RL magnetic effect of the carrier itself - it's simulated in the Tomcat. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 MiG-29A F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Michael-Fr Posted Sunday at 03:56 PM Author Posted Sunday at 03:56 PM It seems to work correctly on other charts. The navigation error is about 30 degrees for the F14, and obscene for the tanker's TACAN. I'm attaching the files. dcs.log Ko-test.miz kola-test.trk
Minsky Posted Monday at 12:44 AM Posted Monday at 12:44 AM Yeah, I see the bug when playing your track, and was able to reproduce it in my own Kola mission. The error vary depending on location. Near Andoya it reaches 50 degrees. Whatever this is, it doesn't affect the Hornet at all. And the Tomcat seems to experience it only when starting hot at the catapult. I wonder if it's somehow related to other TACAN issues reported earlier? Dima | My DCS uploads
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted 14 hours ago ED Team Posted 14 hours ago Hi, this is likely due to magnetic variance, the supercarrier seems to be correct, I will enquire with the teams to try and find out more. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
