Newbie got some Problem

Hello. I just figured out how to start the Engines. Toook me som e LONG Time. And im happy as a Boy can be. They work now! (after 3 Hours of Startpocedure). Now i got 2 Problems with it: 1. I want to test the Engine Ice Dust but i can put the Switch in any Position and i dont get a Message on the Overview Panel. What am i doing wrong? 2. I swtich to external VIew and after that get back in Cockpit with F1. Then i cant use the Mouselook. What did i wrong? How to change that? Same Problem with the LWS. I startet the Power on Back Panel and pushed the Reset Button. Then did the Test, waited 30sec. and nothing happend. Hope for some Answers here. You learned the Hard Way? Share some Tips with me on how to start with this Huge Mountain of Lessons. Greetz from Germany Taki

Anti ice and anti dust works only with the generators up and running or with external power enabled and the engines running. LWS is the same, works only if the gens are online or external power is on. Generators are on if the engines are up in auto mode and the generator 1 & 2 switches are turned on.

To Enable and Toggle between various Mouselooks (3 options IIRC) you need to press [LAlt]-[C].

 

I would advise that you first get to 'Feel' the Helo and learn to Fly her from A to B with a coupla landings inbetween. Don't worry about the Manual Start-Up just yet......[LWin-Home] is the Quick-Start - use it ;)

 

Once you are accustomed to the Helo, then dive into the Button-Pushing and attendant systems etc etc.

Both rotors are interconnected and can not be run for themselves (if one engine failed, the heli would start to spin uncontrolably if they were not, also balancing the engine outputs would be a bitch to say the least). What do you mean by the other engine starts then? Sounds to me like the 2nd engine does not light off. Are the fuel valves and fuel shutoff lever for the 2nd engine open?

 

For further explanation i advise you to watch the producer note video #1 on youtube. Shows you complete video of a more or less correct startup.

I have the same issue with the mouse look - after going to any external views then back to internal, it doesn't work any more.

 

I have to press ESC twice to get mouse look back. LAlt+C doesn't bring it back for me.

Any problems I had with engines always turned out to be:

 

Engine's Fuel Shutoff Valve off

 

Engine's Engine Cutoff Valve off

 

Rotorbrake engaged (only a problem with the first engine, generally)

Yes pulled it to open Position when Engine RPM is around 2000.

But i guess its just my Fault. It`s always Pilot Fault. Or did anyone ever get a Failure on LEDs, Engine or anything at Checkup Phase?

 

I just watches some of the Dev Notes and they are awesome. But therein lies one Problem of me.

 

Anyone got a Keyconfig for Saitek 3D to Use that Freelook like in the Videos? I got Problems with Mouselook and Keyboard Look. After i use the Coolie i got Problems using other Modes even when changing Camera Mode with Alt+C :huh:

 

What Configs does the Producers use in thoses Videos when they arent Using TrackIR?

 

I got Problems with it. FIghting the Views not flying the Vec.

I got Problems with Autohover and hold the Heli still.

 

I push Enter+RStrg and got that Red Joystick Menu. On that the Rudder is always far to the Left. As longer i fly the More it gets to the Left.

 

Are those Problems relatet with my Cyborg3D Flight Stick? Same with Forgotten Battles long time ago. No matter how much i trimmed. I always had to keep my Hands on the Stick! :joystick:

X-File7892378: KA-50 Hokum started Mission "Courier". Every System looked normal. No Flightplan in ABRIS so Pilot did one. Easy Way. Coords was CAR and SHIP and RETURN HOME.

Any Sugesstions what it was? I dont have a Clue!

You managed to send the Top Rotor through the Bottom Rotor, or Visa Versa, at a Speed of 250km/h........Needless to say not without consequence as you yourself have now found :D

The ABRIS shows navigational information only on the ABRIS. The HUD and HSI is controlled by the PVI-800.

Alt+Z = Time Decelerate.

Ctrl+Z = Time Accelerate

Shift+Z = Time Normal.

 

All key commands can be found in a PDF located in your start menu under Eagle Dynamics -> Ka-50. Probably a good idea to print it out, whichever one you're using (Simulation or Game).

 

Also, all information on startup procedures, and using the auto-pilot correctly are in the Ka-50 Pilot's Manual PDF also located in the aforementioned directory. I suggest you read through them, it will help a lot. =)

 

As Falke said, you will need to configure your PVI-800 to display the information on your HUD, or be constantly looking at your ABRIS to make sure you are on course.

Didnt work for me. Found that, tryed it (even bevoer the Hint) but couldnt see s Speed Up Process in Track? :joystick:

So far so good. I didnt get the Fault with my Startup but now trying to do the Whole Startup from that File i have seen bevore. Its nice!

 

Thx for all your Help so far. You are a good Community here. Only seen over at Battlefront with the Combat Mission Series.

 

I got Propblems with my Coolie Hat (Cyborg 3D Gold) as the normal Settings for View didnt work and kept my Head Spinning. Now it works better.

 

But i got one thing that is still tickeling me:

 

I knew how to Switch to Mousepointermode Alt+C and in one Mode i can use Mouselook. But Problem is that i cant use these two Modes together wich would be handsome. When i start a Tutorial and take over Control it works for a Short Time then it wont. So i have the MouseControl Yellow Cross-Hair but cant move my Head around by getting to the Borders of the Screen you know?

 

Anyone can help me with that? If i can get a workaround for that i have the Freedom to realy learn the Bird!

Problem is reproducable!

 

Last Track only COvers Few Minutes i guess. Have to Save it Next Time.

 

Could it be something related to weather? I got no EKRAN Warning Message at all. Even when i get down.

I started over again. NOw i flew longer then the Last Time. But same Problem appeared.

 

Now i saved the Track File. No matter but i would have gone down anyway. Fuel was almost out! :music_whistling: Maybe i was doing something wrong? How to activate the outer Tanks?
