thaFunkster Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hello, I have been playing LOMAC 1.02 with no problems under Windows 7 RC 32bit. I have just ordered Flaming Cliffs, which I installed and it wouldnt work. Well, I read that it didnt work without the patch under windows Vista, so I thought I needed the patch. I downloaded and installed the 1.12b patch, but still it wont work. When Windows starts, a message appears saying "Star Force protection system not compatible with this version of windows and will be blocked." When I try to run flaming cliffs, I get the message Activation Protection System "Application installed succesfully. Reboot the computer to complete the instillation". Well, I reboot, and the same message appears, but flaming cliffs never works. Help me please. Funk on YouTube!

thaFunkster Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Great, thanks for that. Just had my first game of FC, big improvement over 1.02, everything feels a lot better, and I love the new explosions/. Funk on YouTube!

thaFunkster Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 Well, I have finally installed Flaming Cliffs. Had a couple of games, was working fine. Now all of a sudden, the textures are all stuffed, the aircrat are totally white, and sitting in the cockpit it is totally transparent. I have the latest 1.12b patch and all, I have re-installed three times. Maybe it has to do with Windows 7 and the Catalyst 9.9 drivers? Im stumped. Funk on YouTube!
Tez Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Things worth trying: - Run FC in WinXP compatibility mode. Also make sure that User Account Control is turned off in Windows. - Disable full screen mode. - Reinstall FC from scratch (with deleting installation directory). But before installing it back disable User Account Control and run Setup.exe in WinXP compatibility mode. Please post the results here. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =653=Tez
thaFunkster Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 Thanks. I have XP on another partition, I will try that, I am sure it will work. Problem is, that I spend all my time in WIn7, and I want it to work from there. But I will post when I see what happens in XP. Funk on YouTube!
Kuky Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Tez didn't say you should install in XP rather to run the game in XP Compatibility mode PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Tez Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Browse to FC installation (by default C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On) and open properties of LockOn.exe (via right-click menu), there should be the compatibility tab. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =653=Tez
