Hi has anyone else had problems ?

The 504th had a 1.1 COOP flight today and i hosted on a 3mbit/400kbit connection.

We flew the Joint Strike COOP mission (A10/Su25T) mission and had no end of connection problems, members were ejected from the server and one player had a (timed) 11min load in to mission time !!!

Its taking nearly 5 mins for my system to load in to the server by the time i get there my connection the server has timed out !! If i have to buy more RAM for this game then i willbe saying goodbye to the Lockon community for along time.

In the weapon loadout screen my fuel tanks wouldnt show on my Su25T but where there in game (this also happened in the beta copy i tested).

We also tried a mission freshly built in 1.1 and members would join then when they loaded in to the game wouldnt actually be on the server, so they had to quit then hit fly again to get in to the game.

We had AI A2A CAP flying under the ground (screen attached).

All on fresh installs on 1.1 and defragged HDD's no firewalls either.

Not that impressed by my 1st online outing...and if you know me i only fly online.

Sounds to me like you had a player or two with an incorrect connection setting. Did everyone change the default client speed of 33.6 to a faster speed? Was the server speed also adjusted too?

I just finished hosting a su25t 4 player coop with zero problems. it run for about 2 hours and almost all the targets were destroyed. I think the weather textures increase loading times but even with 512megs it wasn't anywhere close to 5mins, a little over 1min perhaps

Last night I did some testing with another guy on the 120's and AIM 7's. everything went fine, but after about 90 minustes the we both major fps drops. we were flying over the mountains.

man is that AIM7 a fast mofo now.

Seems to be pointing towards certain planes (Su25T and MiG havent tried A10 and dont care) ive bought 1.1 for the Su25T end of story, and now i cant fly it.......

S77th Dante has had the same problems with 512mb of RAM and then they fixed themselves.........i spoke to a player on HL called SaltyBalls who said he could connect and host with 512mb of RAM....its very strange ive changed nothing with my PC from 1.02 to 1.1 and ive been testing and playing with 1.1 BETA for months and have had no problems..................im realy frustrated as i have just bought a game that is totally useless to me.

I wouldnt be surprised if Starforce had something to do with it :(

ok the player count has risen to 3 now

each of us have 512mb of ram but use P4 3gig and AMD XP64bit 3200+ !

All get a timeout on server conection

PLEASE CAN ED OR ANYONE HELP MONDAY MORNING AS IM GOING TO BURN MY COPY OF LOCKON AND GO LIVE ON AN ISLAND !!!!!!!!! :(

1024MB of ram for LOCK ON is a minium in my book. Another 512mb's of ram only cost $50, you can even get deals where it cost $20. I saw that at tigerdirect.com the other day.

well thats just your personal preference, and using 512 megs ram is mine. I have played this game since release on this rig and to me it have always worked well, i have got used to having some settings a bit low but its not a problem. the problem is that i was able to play online with 1.02, and the 1.1 beta, and now i have spent money on a pruduct that i wont be able to play the way i intended to. and i havent seen any posts about having set the recuirements higher for multiplayer in 1.1.

cheers cali but im on a budget here and im cant afford anymore for this game.

They said it was CPU power so i just spent £150 on a P4 3gig prescott 1mb cache etc i already bought a the best card i could afford, and to upgrade my RAM im going to have to buy Corsair XMS XL TwinX 3700 CAS2 to match what i have.....i can get 512mb of RAM for £20 but it wouldnt work to good with what i have.

So it looks like i have to sell my current RAM and spend between £150-220 on new gaming RAM because im not sticking cheap RAM in my PC !!

So if i cant get this problem to go away then i will have to go away until i can.....and that means the death of CAW and Lockonskins.co.uk :(

Have you done any perfmon testing to support this theory? 'cos on my machine (768Mb) ... even that is not streatched! So I don't know what else you have eating your RAM, but it aint LO!

May be this will help:

MP timeouts may be tune in

D:\11-fr-2\Config\network\config.lua

gameTimeout = 10;

pingPeriod = 1;

maxPacketSize = 500;

playerName = "noname";

idleTimeout = 120;

Rise these parameters for a server and client (timeout kick may be caused both - from a server and from a client).

With Best Regards!

Read the requirements for Flaming Cliffs. XP/2000 only. It's changed.

Yes I have played Lock on for a while with only 512mb of ram. And when I added another 512 it was much smoothier and didn't acess my HD.
