For closely same price you have saitek's, and they have toe brakes if you ever want to use them.

And even if they ever break up, you can still use its electronics to build own pedals - mechanical wise - it is quite easy setup.

I had exactly the same kind of decision to make several days ago between these pedals and Saitek.

I found this ebay listing (not mine lol) Has a better picture of the pedels and i must say they look more than a little flimsy in my book.

hi,

thanks for the material, but I am unfortunitly not the "Builder-Type" :D

I can do very simple things with duck tape *g*, but not build something like this.

I was thinking about the saitek pedals but i had the feeling theese are build more solid and precise. again, too bad there is no reviews on theese.

When i read saitek, i have a big factory in mind somewhere in china where theese things are being produced with maximum profit in mind.

Thoose simped ones seem to be assembled in germany from a very small company, maybe even just some guy.

Generally speaks for better quality. maybe.

you might be right - but these look to be based on a product that is actually built in a factory some where in china - namely the Thrustmaster Elite rudder pedals.

I know the Saitek ones are of a very good quality and certainly no one around me has ever complained - But i do know that they do have a habit of sticking and getting jammed. This seems to be a common problem. However i have never seen anyone ever replace them. :)

The thrustmaster ones above are very good, and are good and strong and would be a good product to base a design on, my only worry is that the re-designed ones seem a little delicate.

Perhaps others will have a better idea.

Yes I do, since three years and no problems. Another nice feature is that it doesn't need any drivers, plug&play all the way.

Cool :)

i was wondering about the weight of it. does it provide enough self weight so that it will stay in place and not slip away, or is some kind of mounting or fixation to the ground required ?

These Simped pedals have versions with toe brake:

http://www.dhs-electronic.de/index2.php?id=213&lng=en

And this mechanical principles is more closed to Thrustmaster RCS than to Thrusmaster Elite Pedal:

And "made in China by made in China", Saitek Pedal is made in China too... and don't use HALL sensor like Simped, still using fallible pot's....

If you have a Simped vendor next to you, go for it.

hi,

yes i know about the ch and saitek ones and have read reviews on both.

i was however not really convinced by what i read.

thats why i will propably go for the simped ones. within the ebay link that got posted here there was actually also a link to a review that also spoke pretty highly about the product.

Thanks for everybody's input.

I just got mine 2 days ago except I got the f-16 version with toe brakes. I am so far very impressed with them and they were 100% upgrade for me compared to the CH Pro USB pedals I was using. They provide a very precise smooth output. The only downside I have found other than having to order from Germany, it is a bit lighter than I would like altho as previously stated they do include velcro to attach and support screws for permanent placement. Also the toe brakes are not differential. They are simply on/off, but realistically except for Microsoft Flight Simulator, I havent found differential braking to be of any use. The other downside is the price. For me tho it was a 1 time upgrade well worth the find.

The company was good enough to customize mine at no extra charge. Normally a sister company makes the usb version, but since I could not get ahold of them, they made a usb version for me and had it painted black per request. Excellent service.

They are differential toe brakes (they're pressure sensitive).

These are the nicest / most reliable rudders I've used. They don't feel as sturdy as the TM Elites or RCS and initially I didn't like them because of that. However the precision and ease of moving away and around the centre position changed my perspective on that, and they're the only rudders I now use.

I have a set of Hall sensor modded Elite pedals (best pedals I have ever used) I would like to convert to USB is there a way to do this ?

I have tried Gameport to USB converters without success.

some update.

since i have now owned and tested the simped vario pro/usb pedals for a few days i can attest them a very good build quality and very precise controls.

they dont take away too much space either and the supplied velcro strip keeps it glued onto my carpet :)

i'd recommend them to anyone looking for quality pedals.
