Lucas_From_Hell Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 So, basically, we're totally dependant on what the military wants. Taking things all round, if they aren't interested in a (*airplane name here*) simulator, we'll never get it as a DCS title ? You just hurt my feelings...
Bucic Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Keep this image handy :D 1 F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
amalahama Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I guess I must repeat for the nth time that countries operating a given type is not necessarily enough - ED will go for an aircraft that a country will pay to have a trainer for, and then it will transfer what they have done (minus some stuff that you likely won't miss) to us. If there's no one paying for a 64A sim, but there's countries paying for sims of other aircraft, you'll get the other aircraft. Currently this is the A-10C. Next module? Who knows. Anyway, these can't assure anything; one country can pay for an aircraft simulator and don't let ED to use the documents for an entertainment version. In fact, initially the next DCS iteration were a A-10A, no an A-10C, because the classified systems. Regards!!

arneh Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) It looks like "somebody" has already got the -10 :P Nope, that's made without the -10 manual. I only have the AH-64A -10 manual and other documenation for the D. Edited January 29, 2010 by arneh
isoul Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Well, not that I support the idea, but we have to consider that there are more than just US and Russia in the military world, specially since Cold War ended. The thing is: The AH-64A is operated by Egypt, Greece, Israel, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. It would require a whole rework to expand possible situations, but it's still possible to include these countries in a big conflict. GGTharos, by the way, Wikipedia says (too lazy to look somewhere else) that the US Army operates 240 AH-64A, and another 500 AH-64D. Are you sure all A models were retired since January 2009? Greece uses AH-64A which are upgraded to A+ in order to be able to work together with the rest AH-64D(which acts as AFAC). I believe that excluding AH-64A from DCS would be wise only if AH-64A+/D becomes fully disclassified. Still I instist that besides the Longbow radar usage and some enhanced capabilities the D variant is very similar to A one so modeling the AH-64A is still a good thing to do!
