ET's kill pretty good in a BVR engagement but im not going to reveal too much info or else more balls might get chopped in the next patch and we'll be flying Su-2.7's with R-60's next time.

Its all just one gigantic never ending air war to bolster individual pilot/squad egos with an end result being a stale mate, and after a while players get demotivated to fly the same thing over and over due to repetitiveness.

There is no mentality of team work, where one side competes vigorously and tactically to out do the other side.

FuSiOn, you have never participated in community events such as Crimean Incident, Red Flag or Nucleus. These events really push FC to the limits when it comes to the use of real players, AI and game engine capability. Real planning that sometimes lasts for days if not weeks at the time takes place. And indeed, often, SAM sites are the first on the target list of each side.

 

You only look at the FC from the simple on/line gaming where often we all come together to have some fun and show some skills. Therefore, take a deep breath, join one of those big happenings (some of them are by invitation only) and enjoy a real war simulation as you describe it in your post.

Actually i have participated in 3-4 Red flag events Hajduk ;-)

Ive been around in this community when there was a very small community since the Flanker 2.51 days.

I'm fully aware of what takes place, but I've come to a realization that most people are egomaniacs in this community and cant be helped. Every suggestion is used to attack the person suggesting change/compromise. People read what they want to read and understand what they want to understand. So on that note i say good luck.

That won't help enough, I expect turbo lasers, ray shields, photone torpedos, ion cannons on your side, and you as Darth Vader to lead attack on rebels, and to lead BLUEFOR.

and I don't have a severe asthma problem, so I'm disqualified; nor are you the rebels -

I really don't have time for that, either.

I understand your point. What I do is, I try to stay with positive trends in the community. I am involved with this hobby because I like it and few guys with negative attitude and/or complete lack of understanding will not take me of the track. Also, there is "ignore" option on this forum and I feel way better ever since I started using it.

 

Besides, being rude is not going to help either.

If you are using the same code for the aim120c and the r77 in lockon then realism doesn't matter does it?

 

I have gone through the game codes and I will say only one thing and that is they are very different set of codes for both.

Sorry if you saw what I said as an attack, it was more disbelief.

 

Blame my exceptional memory. :D Two things: In the past I actually suggested LOPEing R-77s onto the F-15 to solve the gimpy Aim-120 problem and I clearly remember the near-comical levels absolute lack of tolerance any type of LOPEing in Lock On for fear of cheating.

 

It verged on being comical because I also remember suggesting on simhq.com that the R-77 should be LOPE'ed onto the Su-27 to make everybody happy. IIRC, one response was something like "why don't you allow the Aim-54 on it and just be done with it". It was treated as damn near heresy.

 

So, I hope you can imagine the irony I see in what your doing. Add to that the cries of how crappy the AMRAAM was and how within a week or two of it being fixed we already see people crying about it in the opposite direction. If you get away with adding R-77s on Flankers, more power to you. :thumbup: This is just the beginning though. If anyone has a problem with how BVR currently works in FC 2.0 when using Eagles vs. Flankers, I highly suggest they avoid head to head multiplayer in DCS if we ever have the same two planes fighting each other. Stick to the campaign and maybe enjoy a nice game of Starcraft or League of Legends.
