I was wondering about realistic sound settings for flying something like the BS, how much "in-cockpit" noises are actually able to be heard and which ones? what do those who like realism set there sound setting mainly for ENGINES and for IN COCKPIT, could you post them and maybe why, thanks.

Remeber people - the sounds are heard by a Microphone mounted in the cockpit. YOU (the pilot) will hear the sound through a helmet and a set of noise cancelling hardphones. Loud is NOT realistic!

The trim clunk is VERY loud in the cockpit because a mechanical servo actuates that reverberates around the cockpit, the pilot can feel this through the cyclic.

First, not many people have noise canceling headphones, they are still quit expensive. As an example, none of the helmets used by aircrews in the U.S. Army are noise-canceling.

Second, the clunk of the trim is actually the sound of a relay energizing. And that relay is just behind the pilot. Most Russian relays are very loud like that, but they don't go on and off like the trimmer does, and they aren't all mounted so close to the flight compartment.

Whatever happened to the "cockpit"? If it's the "flight compartment" why isn't there a placard on the outside of the "Flight Compartment Igress Device" (door) that reads, "Flight Operations, Navigation and Systems Holistic Management Control Center Ingress"? Hmm... Probably need a wider door.

Sorry - what i meant was noise-isolating or full ear headphones which do lesson the noise by a huge amount. Probably i would say by approx 50% In my own experiance. Lets not forget that the usual headgear worn by a pilot flying a KA-50 would have been 2 layers thick, and did have full ear noise deadning headphones built in.

Its known as a flight compartment in most fighting aircraft the world over. Usually it has better ballistic survivability than the rest of the aircaft. In the case of the Apache, the flightcompartment is made from different materials and can withstand a point blank 30mm round. The rest of the aircraft is designed to allow a round to pass right through the airframe without causing too much damage.
