The bump is 100 percent correct (successfully installed thanks modman7). Almost all fast jets have a compressed air system to keep canopy front clean for landing in rain / hail etc. On the F 14 its implemented as 3 pencils that spray air; in later versions as a slit that blows air. This is quite perfect but obviously a persons orientation "might" reduce its apapearance. Look at pics if ur not convinced. Very very impressed by this attention to detail. Your model doesn't need praise; it speaks for itself.

I love the realism that Gys and Valery have put into their new eagle. And it is 100% true that Eagles have this wiper system. But from the perspective of the fixed cockpit in lockon, this bump would not be visible. Watch Youtube videos of in-cockpit F-15 footage (there aren't many :-( ) You cannot see this bump. The only way this would be visible is if the pilot leaned forward and stood up as far as his shoulder restraints would allow. Plus, making the wiper system visible means that ED plus every other F-15 simulator have all gotten it wrong: See a few screens attached below...

I don't get the impression that this is going to be changed, but I wish it would be as it isn't realistic. Now for some Damage control.... THIS NEW MODEL BY GYS AND VALERY IS AWESOME!!!!!!!! And it's loaded on my system and thoroughly enjoyed. :-) Thanks again for making it free of charge guys! I love it...

Thanks wilbur. But i cannot agree with you. The pilot should lay down in a cockpit in order that bump to be out of view. All these screens-are screens from games. Nothing common with a reality.

It's funny, but there don't seem to be any good quality pictures of a pilot's eye view through an F-15 A-D cockpit to prove either of our points very well. :-) Below are a couple that help a little. The top left photo is fuzzy, but there sure doesn't look to be anything like the infamous "bump" within view. Next pic is obviously from an F-15E, but it has the same nose and similar panel structure to the A-D models...and there is no visible windshield blower "bump," just a tiny bit of the curvature of the Eagles' nose, barely visible. Last pic, same thing, you can see a little curvature of the nose, but the windscreen blower is not prominent like the one introduced with your model.

If still not convinced, the next plan of action is to email the dude over at f15sim.com who's got his own (and is restoring) F-15C front cockpit from a wreck in Europe. We'll have to ask him to send us some good photos. :-)

man, look for such kind of fotos, and get the point that pilot eyesight must be in the same place anyway, otherwise due to the HUD projecting principles he'll get image misplacement. I suggest to close this discusssion.

I guess photos from real life pilot line of site, careful research by Eagle Dynamics, Janes, Aeyes, and a host of other simulation makers are all wrong and you're right. Oh well, I'm not going to win this one so I'll agree to disagree...this discussion should be closed.

I also wanted to give Gys and Valery kudos on some unique aspects to their damage model. I love the new engine nozzle damage modeling! It looks awesome! Also, I took the old .tga from Walmis' F-15 damage model textures of the damaged/charred Eagle radar dish, cut it into 1/4th and pasted it to one of your new skins. It looks awesome. Maybe I'll attach a screen at some point.

Cheers,

Oh yeah, and another thing....

I love how you've animated the canopy to slide forward into the locked position when it comes down. Awesome!

And what would happen if the Mod is installed on the server and the client does not have it installed?

Thanks!

Gys71, some of our guys reported that if another player (client) does not have the F-15 mod installed, then players that have the mod installed will not see the correct weapon alignment when the player without the F-15 mod is in the server. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

I guess thats an effect from replacing files of the original DCS/FC2.

Maybe it's unavoidable altogether as long as the pylons in the old model vs the new model isnt perfectly aligned in the same position.

I just uninstall-reinstall Flaming Cliffs

Anyways, which mods are deemed to be incompatible with this model?

Seems the Walmis Weapons mod is one of them..

The missiles don't sit accurately on the pylons. Some missiles sink in the Fuselage and oriented in a wrong position.

FC1 ? Modman7 pack from Lockonfiles?

1) Modman packs from Lockonfiles was packed by TomWeiss himself. Those packs are incorrect. We can't make a guarantee they will work fine.

2) We can't guarantee compatibility of our F-15C with other mods.

Yup, F-15C modman pack for 1.12b, ..used Modman 7 to install on Flaming Cliffs 1.12b

i see..

Is it possible to manually change the position of missiles in your F-15 model?

I got used to Walmis Weapons pack,

Additionally, it was an alternative to the default R-77 model that causes FPS problems..

This F-15C model run's perfect in FC2.0 with the "FC2.0 3GO SU-27" Modman Version and the "SIMMOD A-10A". The A-10A must be install manuall, is not a Modman Version.

For install the A-10A watch the link from V1per...

Are you leaving current F-15C release of yours now as is or you still plan to improve it?

There's still Su-33, ya know? ;)
