I understand rich, but he didnt even say whats his problem...

I said it was a diary. If I thought anyone could help I'd have asked for help :-)

Of course if anyone has a time machine and can hop twenty years ahead to when ED finally have time to work on the AI, I'd love a copy of LOMAC 1.3 ;-)

If you have a time machine, better go back in time to when Jane's F/A-18 was still up to date. I fear that way chances are bigger to see a good editor, good AI and good interaction with your envoirment...

Sigh...

Stop saying LOMAC 1.3, LOMAC 1.4, etc! Please!

In twenty years you will be playing the successor of the successor of the successor of LOMAC. :p

Can't resist... warning... heavy gloating ahead

But something about the way the AI behaves in these dynamically generated missions... It's just chilling. I am so accustomed to seeing the AI do silly things when I build a mission by hand. But once you painstakingly get the AI to do something right in one dynamic campaign mission, like the Su-25 flare-bomber illuminating the target for you at just the right time - the AI behaves that way for every mission the dynamic campaign generates, even if the action takes place in a totally different part of the map. It creates this exciting illusion for me that the AI problems are "cured" by the DC - because the DC only "knows" how to create missions where the AI do what they're supposed to. Just watching the Eagles go about their CAP business, shooting down aircraft on takeoff, then circling until out of fuel, then landing, all without having had to place a single waypoint on the map myself... reminds me of why I do this.

No need to apologize for gloating!! DC will change LOMAC to a must-have modern standard.

When you said "Almost there!", did you mean the alpha stage - you've got all the code in place?

Alpha 0.04 is almost ready for testing - very far from "all the code". Just enough incrementally new functions (i.e. driving ground vehicles) that it might have new bugs. Not to hijack this topic, to learn more just check out that forum.

Feel free to hijack it :-) This thread was never going anywhere anyway... unlike my AI pilots, who go wherever they want, whenever they want ;-)
