ENO Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Frick me... I won't get into too many details and I know this has been brought up a hundred times before- But I wouldn't think twice about doing things I normally wouldn't ever consider doing to get this merged with DCS. I'll let you use your imagination- but it's all on the table. This looks amazing... "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art

Devrim Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I was very excited about this project. But, overtime and after some images and videos, I lost it. Flagrum Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) I was very excited about this project. But, overtime and after some images and videos, I lost it. After DCS stuff I can't see something to be excited about Combat-Helo... I don't know though... By the way; Is there anyone who has difficulties about accessing the web-site? Chrome says "No data received!" I know what you mean ... Tbh, I find this video a bit disappointing. Or is it just me who finds that constantly burning rocket motor a bit odd and the smoke trail, well, a bit "cheap"? But damn me ... I will buy CH ... no matter what. I sooooo must fly a helo with a decent MOVABLE cannon ... The Ka-50 gun is great, but a tad bit inflexible. The miniguns of the Huey are awesome - and movable - but "just" 7.62 mm. And same will be true for the upcoming AH-1G ... :/ Edited February 18, 2014 by Flagrum
Suchacz Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Tbh, I find this video a bit disappointing. Or is it just me who finds that constantly burning rocket motor a bit odd and the smoke trail, well, a bit "cheap"?Not just you, but it is mostly a one man project and it is still in the making. It needs a big artistic touch Per aspera ad astra! Devrim Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Right... Needed very very big artistic touch. And yes, this video disappointed me too. I really wonder, if Mr.Hawley is playin DCS World... :) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
ED Team Raptor9 Posted February 19, 2014 ED Team Posted February 19, 2014 The CH dev team has recently said (and I'm paraphrasing) that the Leadwerks engine they use is limited for their intended application, however affordable. Their intent is for a rolling release of features to build some more capital with the ultimate goal of porting the program to a more capable engine. I'm confident they're gaining traction and development will pickup upon the release of Combat Helo: Gunnery. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. Flagrum Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 New Blog Update......Getting VERY CLOSE to Steam Release http://www.combat-helo.com/general/the-road-to-release-part-1/ Sweet! I found his explanations about the Hellfire interesting. They often overshoot if the target is closer than 1.4 km. The sources I found speak of a minimum distance of 0.5 km, others of 1.5 km. I could imagine, 0.5 km is the bare minimum, i.e. to get the missile armed, and 1.5 km for the "effective minimum range" - which would be quite in line with CH's hellfires. What are our, DCS, Hellfire's parameters?

Old mate says that releasing it for DCS is off the table under the blog MONDAY, 20 JANUARY 2014 The World on DCS World (I think it is meant to be "The Word") He then goes on to say that if his company is still around in the next 3 years and he has the money then maybe. IMO chasing this model up for DCS is a lost cause. It will end up like another 3rd party dev who came on then pulled the pin. In other words, Had all the gear but no idea.
IADC Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Interesting views on what makes this SIM interesting for some and not for others. What this SIM will will do for me is bring back some fun immersion in flying online simulators. CH is modeled around Janes LB2 in terms of fun to play but takes it to the next step of having a fully working cockpit and much more in depth controls/FM and avionics. No one can sit here and say that DCS graphics are any better in terms of what we have now for NOE flying. Once CH gets to the point of allowing MP (Pilot and CPG) capability along with a dynamic campaign it will rock as a good fun SIM to play which DCS right now lacks unless one of the mission builders spends many many hours building something for all to play and those missions are few and far between at best. As we all know DCS are working hard to bring us much more in terms of content and as with CH these guys need our support to keep these things going. I just hope most will buy it and play it as I think they might be pleasantly surprised.
