Vecko Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Why ground textures looks like this when advanced hase is tourned off??? I notice same thing in 1.12 and BS but only when i have some mod for ground text. instaled. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
ThePlainsman Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 My ground doesn't look like that. It's very crisp and detailed.
Vecko Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 Even if haze is off? What is your value for haze in options.lua file? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
Frazer Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Did you mod/tweak anything? It looks like you got your LandLodDistances at a too short range. Check graphics.cfg and look for LandDay and LandNight, make sure L12 is at 20000 or above. To test it I advice you to put it at 40000. Vecko Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) not at all Frazer, i just set 'haze 0' in options. lua in blackshark/data/scripts folder...but i will check that values too... EDIT:Nope, i have check that too, everything look OK... Edited March 28, 2010 by Vecko [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
Vecko Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 On this pic advanced haze is on and everything is OK... I really don't understand why haze on/off settings have such effect on ground textures... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
theGozr Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Something to do with Land far setting.. Fly it like you stole it..
Vecko Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 I think i have find solution...I copyed all cdds ground textures form DCS:BS and now ground ,WITH HAZE OFF, look like this, much better... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
A.S Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I think i have find solution...I copyed all cdds ground textures form DCS:BS and now ground ,WITH HAZE OFF, look like this, much better... LOL ..interesting [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Breakshot Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 not at all Frazer, i just set 'haze 0' in options. lua in blackshark/data/scripts folder...but i will check that values too... EDIT:Nope, i have check that too, everything look OK... hmmm i sure hope you backed up those files as it might be a dangerous solution... I checked the sizes for terrain CDDS files, and FC2 files are of DIFFERENT size than Black Shark... so there is a difference in those files for some reason or another... So be careful before simply replacing those files! Tim "Breakshot" Mytrofanov | C.O. of 51 ПВО / 100 КИАП Regiments | twitch.tv/51breakshot
Vecko Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 yes, i have backup, just in case, but ,soo far so good...;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
tpisko Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 You were lucky =SE=Vecko. I tried your solution and no change. Still have the blurry, coarse textures. I've got everything on HIGH, didn't change any LUA files (confirmed that ADV Haze is on, LOD is default 50 000), didn't install any MODs. DCS BS works fine. I'm using latest nVidia drivers. I wonder what is causing it. But a solution would be nice. ;)
Shaman Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Well, if you force turn off main feature of the engine (which must not be turned off) that is responsible for most shaders and related effects - expect graphics glitches and low rendering quality. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
tpisko Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 That's clear as shamandgg. But I haven't changed the adv haze. Everything is set to default from clean install, my settings high and the textuer looks exactly as the one published by =SE=Vecko.
tpisko Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I actually decided to upload a couple of screenshots as I couldn't find any solution to this problem. First one shows how coarse is the texture in the background and the second shows that directly below the plane the texture is actually normal. How can I refine the coarse, blurry texture? Screenshots were taken from default, clean install - settings set to HIGH, no Mods or other tweaks were installed or performed. I'm running it full screen, 1920x1080, nVidia FX3700 with latest drivers. BTW. Thanks ED for all the hard work. BS is just phenomenal. And I'm sure A10 will be even better.
Frazer Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 One last shot, please check if your graphics.cfg settings are the same: { perSquare = 5; perSquare2 = 150; front = 1000; back = 10000; top = 2500; map_high = 20000; bottom = 2000; noisemax = 0.5; noisemin = 0.1; } NoiseStrip { min = 2095; max = 2505; Other than this, I would not know....... tpisko Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Thanks Frazer for the reply but my settings are exactly the same. I tried the suggestions in the link sent by A.S but only a small change could be seen. The HIGH quality texture is little bit further away from my plane but vast majority of the textures are very coarse and blurry as before. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Thanks guys
Vecko Posted April 1, 2010 Author Posted April 1, 2010 If you did not mess up with haze settings then probably something else is is wrong with your sistem ,maybe driver or something...Sry, i realy don't know...You can try to reinstal simm but be very careful with your activation... deadsmell Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 thanks for the suggestions guys, but thats not the problem. I tried high settings and the issue is still there. it just has certain areas that have that flat looking washed out texture less look. I tried taking screenshots, but they arent saved in my screenshots folder. I have another graphical issue that appears to be related to overcast weather conditions and water as well. maybe ill try a different driver later. Im really enjoying the new campaign though, i just hope i can get this resolved somehow. Dont let the smell get to ya...............
Squid Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 (edited) one of my graphics issues with FC2 is similar to that, or maybe the same. - One is some problem with mixing high res ground textures with low res. - and another annoying is tearing-up / waving of screen as if v-sync is not working (no matter what v-sync settings i put it doesnt make a difference) Radeon 5850. i7 860, 6gb DDR3 1600 Related post is here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=51719&page=3 , screenshots at #9. #15. #19 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=864773&postcount=9 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=866232&postcount=19 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=866158&postcount=14 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=866176&postcount=15 - How you change the Haze ??? Theres no Haze setting in the graphics settings panel - Also active planar and All planar shadows dont seem to make any difference, is there a way to get that to work ? Or even better to get CLOUDS shadow cast on ground to work like in FC1 where THERE WERE NO vertical dark banding all over the horizon ??? Squid Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Ok, in my case some entry from this tweak mentioned some posts ago here ( http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=865286&postcount=86 ) has restored (or at least it looks like, maybe the haze covers the thing up lol) I am now investigating what exactly entry from that tweak could be the one that fixed that . i7 880 | HD 7870 | 8 Gb DDR3 1600 | ECS P55H-A | OCZ Vertex 2 180 | Intel 330 180 | WD 500 AAKS | 2x WD 2T Green | Enermax Liberty 620 | CH Combatstick & Throttle | TrackIR 3 | HP ZR24W | Windows 7 x64
