MagpulOperator Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) What the general opinion on these? I am kinda concerned that the angle they are at the would be comfortable for long periods? Do they work alright? Edited March 30, 2010 by MagpulOperator

Bucic Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 What the general opinion on these? I am kinda concerned that the angle they are at the would be comfortable for long periods? Do they work alright? You mean the angle of feet bases? They tilt forward (they are spring loaded) to almost horizontal position along axis which is usually assigned to brake axis. Obviously you can set your feet at whatever angle you please during the whole flight except airfield operations. The biggest flaw - unpleasant noise coming out of it during transition through neutral position (yaw axis). It gives impression of them being damaged slightly but they're fine in fact. MagpulOperator Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) Can you set the tension high enough that they recenter? Edited March 30, 2010 by MagpulOperator
Vekkinho Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) They recenter with ease no matter of tension setting! I keep tension set somewhere in the middle, too loose and you'll activate rudder by accident during flight or by the dead weight of your legs but too tightened also degrade your taxiing efficiency! Mine rudders work for 4,5 years now w/o any problem! I play LO every other day (on average), 15-20 hours a month, 200 hours of flight time per year! Now You can't say Saiteks are not durable! evo6tme Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) yep agree with the above . i only stoped using my saitek stick x36 usb couse the programing sofware didnt suport windows7 ( 7 years old and still working ). And my pedals are going strong and still centering whatever the tention setting:thumbup: Edited March 30, 2010 by evo6tme
Vekkinho Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 And they're the best bang 4 buck you'll get on the market of rudder pedals. I never tired SIMPEDs, they sure look great as real F-16 rudders but man, with those prices it's not so necessary. You don't use rudder too often during flying! So I'd (already did) rather invest in sturdy stick that you'll use throughout your flight, and Saitek rudders are moer than enough for taxiing and all the rudder work you'll need during flight! andyfoot Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Having used the Saitek Rudder pedals for the last few years, I wouldn't consider playing a flight sim without them now. Not as important as 1. a good HOTAS, 2. TrackIR, but these are easily number 3 and they make ground pounding a lot easier/better IMHO. Using a twist rudder joystick can cause you to alter your flight tragectory, just when you need to stay wings level and on course.
Outlaw24 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I own a set of Saitek Rudder pedals and really enjoy them, I recently switched from a set of CH rudder pedasl and the difference was really significant. The wide stance of the pedals, the tension adjustment and the feel are a few of the qualities I've come to prefer. rattler Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Used them for 4 years now and one of the better, more stable investments. Love them!!Repeating: Best bang for buck!!
Ramstein Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I have owned some for a few years,, only probs I had was they would jam off the track inside, and Saitek sent me an upgrade kit to fix them... otherwise, like everyone said,, plus if you like you cana use them for auto racing.. you can alos set a profile for differential braking too.. MagpulOperator Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 (edited) I just got these today and love them! Thanks guys. Only thing I need to know is how to disable the to brakes for lomac if I rock up I lose control. Also everytime I try to asign an axis to something like the brakes, it just takes me to that page of things on axis's it doesnt let me add it. Edited March 31, 2010 by MagpulOperator

MagpulOperator Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 (edited) I new to these pedals not sure how to take them out of profile. I would like to asign them to the w key. They are all greyed out in the editor. And I dont want to do bands. Edited March 31, 2010 by MagpulOperator

MagpulOperator Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 I see in my saitek X45 pro profile, the boxes the commands go in are white, the ones for the pedals are greyed out.
Bucic Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 No axis for left and right toe brake in FC2 though ;'( It wouldn't be realistic on Russian machines but the Western ones should have it. MagpulOperator Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 (edited) Let me give that a try. Ok it works, but only if I roll in really slow for some reason. Edited March 31, 2010 by MagpulOperator
