When flying FC2.0 with my Logitech G940 there is huge deadzone on centering stick Forces(about 10%), I mean when I make small control adjustment there is no centering force at all.

There is centering spring force-effect when I make bigger movement, more than about 10%

I don't mean Joystick deadzone, i mean Force Feedback centering spring deadzone

Any suggestions?

That "Centering Problem" is in all G940 Sticks and is intended by the producer to be normal or standard (at least it seams to be intended).

Logitech did not respond yet ( and it´s been a while now since the first customers criticized that Problem on the support Forums of Logitech ) to update the Firmware / Software or whatever is needed to get rid of that Problem.

All we can do is wait and hope that it will be possible to change that .. if not.. you have to live with it or sell it.

best regards,

Kankkis, have you tried enabled the centering spring for FFB games in the configuration menus? Maybe that'll help. Logitech says the games aren't sending appropriate information to the controller, who knows...

I just enabled the centering spring myself to test it out, and it's still a bit loose in the center. I don't think it'll help you. I personally don't really see it as a problem since I turn on the autopilot when I've got my hands off the stick. It flies just fine on autopilot and also when I'm actively flying. However, that's just my opinion!

I'd actually like to hear from ED on this one. Technically, according to Logitech, this problem may be fully addressed on the game side with appropriate programming. Logitech had also indicated quite clearly that it was working with game vendors to assist them in doing this. I've always assumed ED was among them. Consequently, I have to believe that either Logitech was not telling the truth or ED has chosen not to incorporate G940-specific programming. Unless stated otherwise, right now I'm assuming the latter (which is too bad).

Given the time that it is taking them to actually come upt with something, i think the ball is in logitechs court. And all that babble about the FFB API, i don't buy it. Other equipment (like the MSFFB2) works flawless with hardly any noticeable slop.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Technically, it's in both courts. Evidently, (given FSX as an example) it's possible to program out the slop. ED hasn't done that, and that decision lies with them. I don't necessarily fault them since I don't know their reasons or how big the effort is, but it is clearly something they could have done if they really wanted to. Given that they haven't, I'm disappointed in ED for not doing it. On the other hand, I remain seriously disappointed in Logitech for apparently doing next to nothing to make this happen, and for (apparently) not using an API model that is compatible with existing FFB implementations. For crying out loud, given the way Logitech was previously talking, ED should have been able to practically ask Logitech to write the code for them. Anyway, if ED isn't properly supporting the G940 in their latest releases, I remain worried about the future of this stick.

[Edit] On a positive note, I did just see that CharlesB has a note on the Logitech forum suggesting that an update that addresses the slop may be near. Let's keep our fingers crossed. This post also confirms that slop control can be done at a programmatic level.

It is incredibly disappointing that Logitech is not taking a proactive role in solving FC 2.0 and BS trimming problems with G-940. This is opportunity of the lifetime for Logitech to make a flagship joystick that every serious flight sim enthusiast would recommend for many years to come.

Logitech should have a dedicated support person for the FC and BS questions. Of course, ED should have a dedicated contact person at Logitech engineering team.

I would buy G940 tomorrow if FF would work in BS and FC.

BTW, Saitek support is no better either.

Conclusion is, there isn't enough competition in this field. HOTAS manufacturers just don't have to build a product that works.

I would like to add that the problem about the slop or 20% free movement around the center with no force feedback to recenter the stick does not exist in other games like IL2. It only happens in Black Shark.

I am in need of a new stick cos my trusty old X52 is wearing thin and I might hold out to see what happens to this.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I've talked to Logitech today and they are actively working on solutions.
This is the best news I've heard in a long, long time when it comes to FF implementation. Now, there is a hope ... Logitech can count on me as a customer when I see that the G940 stick stays in the same location as the stick in Black Shark when I pres the T button! :)

Yeah I just checked the forums and they said there is a total rewrite of the software being done.

Being a total rewrite I expect it will take some time unfortunately.

At least something is being done to correct my white elephant.
