Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 You can now have a separate profile for FC2 in TrackIR instead of using Blackshark. Perform "check for game updates" then restart your TrackIR software. 1
Posted April 10, 2010 Author Posted April 10, 2010 ehhhh, unfortunately, there seems to be a bug because it still seems to be using blackshark's profile even when there is now an entry for FC2.0. Do they test this stuff before they release it?
NaturalPoint - Seth Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Hi, ummmm, <((((><. :) It's not a bug. We recently created a unique ID for FC2, and sent it to Eagle Dynamics for inclusion in their next build. We've gone ahead and made the ID public, so users will have access to it as soon as ED releases a supporting build. But, until that point, it's not actually "hooked up." Good catch though. I wondered how long before someone would see it. :)

Thanks Seth for the heads up. :) I am looking forward to the separate profile capability with the next patch! I can't speak for ED, personally, but I would expect it to be included in a patch in the near future. It will need to be patched or hot-fixed in. 1
Skopro_PL Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 so does this mean i can hang myself with my trackir2 because no one will support it? I don't plan to update since it works fine with everything else i use,it even work in lockon,in FC2 its recognized and i can assign axis but in game its non-responsive..any ideas? | 8700k @4.9 | Gigabyte Gaming 7 | 32gb Tridentz @3000 | EVGA 1080 TI SC2 | CV1 | VKB MCG PRO [sigpic]https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FeLGqKyJ3K08k3z-7XaegWgRuGRGkKUs/view?usp=sharing[/sigpic]
71st_Mastiff Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 yes because the new update in track ir software has a new profile dedicated to it Trak ir 3 and up. Break yourself and upgrade theres good reasons to always upgrade.. so does this mean i can hang myself with my trackir2 because no one will support it? I think if i do upgrade i'll spend it on freetrack.. I understand tir2 is old but theres no reason why simple headtracking is so difficult to implement.. if it ain't broke don't fix it, at least with freetrack i know i can invest now and it'll always work with everything down the line..unlike trackir.. | 8700k @4.9 | Gigabyte Gaming 7 | 32gb Tridentz @3000 | EVGA 1080 TI SC2 | CV1 | VKB MCG PRO [sigpic]https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FeLGqKyJ3K08k3z-7XaegWgRuGRGkKUs/view?usp=sharing[/sigpic]

flyICE Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I am too angry about NaturalPoint's decision to stop supporting TrackIR2 in current games and win7. I had been using TIR2 in BS by using cracked dll file and drivers and I felt absolutely no guilty about doing that. But the fix only worked partially since I can only use TIR2 in mouse mode under Win7. I see absolutely no reason why simple X/Y headtracking with TIR2 can not work with Blackshark/Win7, other than NaturalPoint's deliberate plan to force people to buy their TIR4/5. Well they succeeded, at least I just bought the TIR5 couple weeks ago. But the thing is that NaturalPoint could have continued the support of TIR2, and I will still buy the TIR5 due to its cool 6DOF. In that case, I'll give high respect, not disrepect, to this company. I delayed my upgrade to TIR5 for about a year precisely b/c I despise the current practice of NP, and due to my real concerns how NP will treat their TIR5 customers couple years down the road.
