TAIPAN_ Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 thanks Crunch. Also fixed some waypoints for Ka-50/strike aircraft and added the needed trucks to allow Ka-50s to rearm and refuel at farps.... Apparently static "FARP" objects don't work anymore. Cool, I'll have to come on again and give it a go. You could give smoke rockets as default loadout for the Ka-50s so that we can mark bunkers etc for the bombers. Ka-50s not so good with bombs, and rockets don't cut it for those hard targets. Grimes Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 After running out of Ka-50 slots earlier I'll be adding some more to the missions. Capturing Maykop version 3.0.0.6 will add 4 ka-50s per side. Each new airframe will have an "AFAC" mission and start off with Vikhers and smoke rockets. For Blue the new farp supporting them is just west in the same valley, for red the new farp is part of the old farp (yay for flat terrain) The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Sabre Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 thanks Crunch. Integrity Check now live. Final list of checked files. "Config/export/export.lua", "Sounds/Sound.cfg", "Sounds/SoundDescr.lua", "Config/Weapons", "Config/ServerGraphics.cfg", "Scripts/Aircrafts/_Common/sfm_aerod.lua", "Scripts/Aircrafts/_Common/sfm_engine.lua", Modman compatible files for our server. Download Guys, can I tweak some values in Graphics.cfg (those to increase FPS) and still be allowed to join this server? What are the popular mods allowed on this server? Thanks, Sabre.
Case Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Guys, can I tweak some values in Graphics.cfg (those to increase FPS) and still be allowed to join this server? What are the popular mods allowed on this server? As you can see from the list of files, graphics.cfg is not checked for integrity, and hence you can join the server even after you have tweaked the values within this file. Many of the main stream mods will not change the files listed above. The only exceptions are Tacview and ERI/LEAVU, which will change export.lua. To obtain the stock version of export.lua, check this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=53789 There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

IvanK Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Flew this yesterday and witnessed the capturing of Maykop and resupply .... amazing work thanks for the effort in producing this map and scenario.

Kuky Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Export.lua should be default to all client so using LEAVU should not be possible (unless it can run without it and we don't know it) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

Kuky Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 we all know why and what most people like and for what reason they join certain servers. 104th_Crunch Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 You can call it "Main-Streaming" or "169th server-syndrom" .....all i can do is encourage ppl to use that server, because its great. Grimes worked his #### off to create that great mission. Bullocks. The 3sqd mission is excellent and obviously a lot of work into it. I'll say this for the probably the 12th time in this forum. The mission is as as much what you make of it as it is the mission design. My mama always said if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it.
Kuky Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 There's one other thing... advertising... if you don't see adds of products on TV you won't know know about them at all or not as much as if it's being advertised a lot. 3Sqn_TomAce Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I just noticed that Kuky has 3560 odd post on ED wow, that's huge dude lol Good flight IvanK was good to see the race track in action over Maykop. Let's get more people in there good fun and lot's going on... Everyone welcome.
Grimes Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Doing a little thread necro, but hey better than making a new thread :music_whistling: A few minor bug fixes are on the way for Capturing Maykop. Mostly typos and a few not mission breaking triggers that were acting a fool. Actually it was because I set a trigger action to make flag 744 true when it should have been flag 745. As a result the poor red team didnt know what the current situation at target area 4 was. Players were probably wondering what the heck happened to it since there was never a message labeled "Update 4 of 4" New version will be up soonish. I'm looking for a suitable replacement to that damned "static" sound effect and maybe a few other things. Once that's done it will be updated. Something new might be on the horizon also. But I'll keep mum on that for now until its properly developed at "blow your socks off" levels. Cheers. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Grimes Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 O.o Logic system change might be coming. A while back there was a discussion regarding the use of mission goals as a method to achieve a useful "Player Counter. " Apparently some hot blonde must have been on my mind when this information was presented. As a result the topic went in one ear, it then stuck around long enough to leave me vaguely remembering it, then promptly out the other ear. Whilst having some fun testing mission goals and how triggers effect them I realized how efficient the system could be used. Suffice to say it could potentially remove about 100 triggers. It also fixes a pretty annoying bug related to exactly how many aircraft are in the zone. There are a decent amount of reasons to implement this change, its just a question of time and testing to make sure the change works. Grimes Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 Yes and no. Text format is easily possible, and I really encourage it. Templates require some coding. I started writing a .Net app that wrote lines of code for me. I did it because I had one trigger that had 264 conditions in it, and I didnt feel like clicking that many times to write it. I basically just added to the app whenever I needed something from it. Something I like to do whenever I have a ton of similar or identical triggers is to create empty triggers in the list and to have a finished version of the trigger to be copied already built within the mission. So they don't actually have anything in there, but they still exist. I then close the game, put the file into a winrar archive, I then open the file up via winrar (the miz file is sorta like a rar file to begin with) You then get a few options depending on whats in the file. Usually two files exist "mission" and "options" there may be a few folders containing sounds or images attached to the mission. Choose to open the mission file and use notepad ++ or your favorite notepad program. Down in trigrules an empty trigger will look like this. [123] = { predicate = "triggerOnce", rules = { }, -- end of rules actions = { }, -- end of actions comment = "", }, -- end of [123] [123] is the trigger number. predicate is the type. Rules are rules. Actions are actions. And comment is what its called. I then go to the trigger I want to copy and paste. [870] = { predicate = "triggerOnce", rules = { [1] = { flag = 770, predicate = "c_flag_is_true", unit = "", }, -- end of [1] [2] = { flag = 778, predicate = "c_flag_is_true", unit = "", }, -- end of [2] }, -- end of rules actions = { [1] = { flag = 771, text = "", predicate = "a_set_flag", seconds = 10, }, -- end of [1] [2] = { flag = 778, text = "", predicate = "a_clear_flag", seconds = 10, }, -- end of [2] [3] = { flag = 770, text = "", predicate = "a_clear_flag", seconds = 10, }, -- end of [3] }, -- end of actions comment = "TA3 25%", }, -- end of [870] I copy everything between "predicate = " through to the "comment = ...," Then paste within the same area of the blank trigger. When done exit out of notepad. Winrar will ask you if you want to update the file, go ahead and click yes. Close the winrar of the mission. It will ask again to update, click yes. Extract the file as a different name just in case and open it back up in the game. If you screw it up the game will get pissed when you load it in the editor. Usually a bracket or a comma is missing. Have fun finding it and it should be fixed. Now all ya gotta do is change the appropriate values in the new triggers you created to make everything work the way its supposed to. Its not perfect and its still time consuming, but when you have 20 triggers that have 2 conditions and 3 actions its much easier to just copy and paste it then change 5 values in each one, rather than creating each one by hand. 1 The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Case Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 What is the status of the mission now Grimes? Is it already running on the server with the latest changes? There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
Grimes Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 I'm trying to rethink exactly how to use the mission goal system to count players. Unfortunately mission goals are slightly more broken than I originally anticipated. I've been putting most of my editing time into a new mission idea I'm testing. I'll put in the new radio sound asap and upload it. The more expansive changes might come later. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
