Hello Pilots!

I've been playing FC2 multiplayer this past weekend and let me say I'm addicted! :pilotfly:

The 104th server is pretty stable considering at times there was 50+ people on the server. I encourage you all to hop in there and check it out!

What I found kinda funny was the crowded runways and how, without any tower, 15+ aircraft are taking off and landing, even at the same time from different directions!! A few accidents that were funny but overall and considering it's a public server, it feels very realistic, the missions, the pilots and the overall atmosphere.

Thanks again ED for making another amazingly incredible stable simulator!

Thanks for flying the 104th! 104th_MoGas and 104th_Crunch put a lot of effort into making our current mission, Operation: Liberty.

Airport operations are clumsy at the moment, to say the least. I will bring this topic up with those higher up in the squad. It is my personal belief that we specify the active runway. This can become quite confusing otherwise. We also need to find a way to keep people from taking off on taxiways.

Again, thank you for flying our server!

Great, the more the merrier. Also check out the server briefings if the server hosts a dedicated Teamspeak or Ventrilo server for communicating with other pilots on the server.

There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

That's one thing I forgot to mention. Always feel free to join our Teamspeak3 server! Connection info can be found on our website: http://www.104thphoenix.com

Unfortunately, I can not fly on 104th server because it changes my cockpit views (FOV and Vertical Head Position) so bad that it is not playable for me. I manually edited view.lua and snapviewsdefault.lua to adjust my FOV and head vertical position so as to be able to see Bereyoza all the time.

When I enter 104th server, those settings are overwritten by server which makes it unplayable for me.

I use TiR 5.

It should not. We have edited the amount of 6dof to something much greater than default. However, I do not believe we edited the default head position and I still find it very playable.

This is likely an isolated issue. Please post in our forums. I'm sure someone with a bit more knowledge than I can help you get this sorted out.

Thanks

I guess we can look at disabling forced views. In one way they are good to enforce to stop people from setting unrealistic views. I don't think it's fair to say that the settings are unplayable as they are similar to the default view, just with more DOF. Thanks Hajduk for pointing this out.

Looking at disabling the forced view i'm completely against it. Some people have a very incorect sens of fov.. a review of the setting yes.

Some will make incredibly wide views..

Hajduk could post an example of a view in your cockpit plz?

Ground and air traffic is messy cos there are no signs on the ground that will direct people in appropriate way. And once in the air, mostly they do not care for correct landing procedures (direction) and then they do not clear the runway.

It would be amazing if ATC could enforce some actions onto pilot, at least if it would be possible to configure something like that. For example, ATC yells at you when taxiing wrong way, force wheelbrakes and engine powerdown before entering RWY if another a/c is on final, speed bumpers on taxiways to prevent taking off....

Still, the part that I do miss most is that there are NO direction signs of any sort :(

I think the worst things is the taxiway takeoffs that some still insist on doing, even though in the 104th brief it clearly states that it's against server rules.

That, and people performing dangerous low flybys and aerobatics and crashing into the runways, totally retarded.

Hi Crunch. I said it is not playable for me and me only. The presence of so many players on your server means that others do not have the same problem that I am experiencing.

With FC1.12 I use to use LOCFG to adjust the views. But now, as far as I know, LOCFG for FC 2.0 is not available yet, thus me adjusting LUA files manually.

Mustang yes agree..

Posting other parked aircraft or vehicule tu ovoid the long empty stretch that are so tempting to speed up.. ?

Would be good also to have a mod with actual real signs :)

I mostly fly Su-25T. Here's the cab view on 104th server:

th_ScreenShot_007.jpg

As obvious, I don't see half of my HUD, very little of IT-23M screen and most importantly, I don't see Beryoza. I can not play like that.

Here's my view in the cab on every other server I checked:

See the difference?

Same, no FOV issues here either

I know you asked Boberros, but if it helps i use an older TIR3 (driver 4.1.037)

Yep, and not only that, over time it murders the frame rates when you're around the airbase, requiring you to exit and rejoin the server :(

Hajduk please just zoom out, you are probably using just the "not good" basic setting from ED..

Just zoom out as soon you enter in the cockpit and i'm sure it will be ok

Try

( your view is what we see to as well ) so something is not set from your end..

got the exact same problem here to, already posted it on the 104th forums BTW.

Zooming out before take-off is of course possible, but if you have been looking around, what ya do quite a lot as a ground pounder.

And you reset the view then its back to zoomed in again......, So you end up spending more time on zooming in/out the cockpit view then that your looking for targets or doing other useful stuff.
