RvEFuSiOn Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 (edited) Hi everyone, I recently started work new on a High Quality sound pack for FC2, and I just managed to complete the first version of it. It took me around 2 weeks and many hours to compile, mix and create some of the best sounds in the aviation world (From real Jets) There are just way to many sounds to list, that have been replaced and redone. A few easy ones to remember are Gears,Brakes,Engines, afterburner,Guns,Flaps and the list goes on and on. Most improvements have been done for the F-15C but other jets also sound very different too. Along with this I have even tweaked the (English) Bitchin Betty/ Cockpit warning sounds. I have kept file sizes to a minimum and the entire sound pack compressed is about 8.7megs and they are in High Quality .ogg format. This is Version 1.0 and I will continually update other jets with upcoming sound packs if and when I get time. To install follow these steps: 1.Rename/Backup and remove your Effects folder in your Sounds folder. 2.Go to your Sounds/Speech/English folder and you will see a folder called BETTY, Rename it or back it up and remove it! 3.Install the sound pack with the latest version of Modman. Edit:Link Added below LINK: http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=277&lid=1769&title=FuSiOn's%20realism%20sounds%20v1.0#dldetails Important One last thing, You have to adjust your Cockpit Sound Slider's according to your system settings, because every system has a different sound card and setup, Hint: To gauge the optimal effect overall test by hearing your afterburners in cockpit, it should have a Bass like rumbling effect which should be clearly audible but not Loud! I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do! EDIT: Clicking sound fix http://www.mediafire.com/?tmnztzzto2w Simply replace this CockpitAfterburner.ogg from the pack with this one... No more clicking! Peace! Edited June 9, 2010 by =RvE=FuSiOn 3

Rikus Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Waiting for russian planes version :P Greetings and thanks
RvEFuSiOn Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Guys engine sounds for russian planes are also affected in this pack, only thing is I didn't rework the warning or betty sounds for russian planes, but you will hear new sound effects for Russian jets too! Peace! 1
Boberro Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Let's see how good it is ;] Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
RvEFuSiOn Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Link added! Its now available on Lockonfiles
Sov13t Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I am on the fence with this one :noexpression: Really like the gear sounds and flares, but didn't like the in cockpit sound and in cockpit with afterburner sound... everything else needs more testing/flying around... just did a 10 min flight and that's it. Boberro Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Tried it in Black Shark and in cockpit there is annoying dunno how to call it BOOM BOOM BOOM sound all time. I know it is for FC 2, however BS is almost like FC in sound aspect and used files. Don't know how to call these booms, like explosions. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... RvEFuSiOn Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) Tried it in Black Shark and in cockpit there is annoying dunno how to call it BOOM BOOM BOOM sound all time. I know it is for FC 2, however BS is almost like FC in sound aspect and used files. Don't know how to call these booms, like explosions. Can you specify what boom sound this is? This pack has not been tested with Blackshark and you will need to explain more of what you are hearing in order for me to understand what you are saying. As I have mentioned in the first post You have to adjust your Cockpit sound slider, You might need to drop it to anywhere between 30-40% for your systems or even more. Adjust your sound sliders first, and then try them in game. As far as cracking or anything of the sort is concerned please refer to my first post, this is another indication that your sound sliders are way too loud. You should not be hearing any sort of cracking! These sounds are setup to be more silent than the stock sounds that came with FC2, so if anyone is hearing anything out of the ordinary, be sure to know its not the sounds, but your setup that is incorrect. I'm here to answer any questions regarding any technical issues. Peace! Edited May 21, 2010 by =RvE=FuSiOn
Frazer Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Some of the sounds, like Planewind sound, are boosted too much. In other words, peeks that go out of the dynamic range. Lockon accelerates and decelerates sounds as you flyby and when your soundfile contains peeks that go out of the dynamic range, you hear cracks. Some of the original sounds of Lockon also suffer from this, in fact many original sounds are in bad quality, no matter if they are wav or ogg. Maverick322 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 When in cockpit with full throttle with afterburner, I only hear a low rumbling sound.. Not very realistic imo as you don't hear the rumbling so loud and you should hear more sound comming from the airflow over the canopy. Is there something in the sound settings I can change for the low rumbling sound? Futhermore, it's great!

Sabre Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 And what makes you think that. I didn't if that was a question. Sabre.
Ghost Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I like it apart from when in afterburner i'm getting an annoying clicking sound. This click happens every 2 seconds or so and now i just focus on that. The landing gear is the best sound though, very realistic. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RvEFuSiOn Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 New version 1.01 will be coming out very shortly that will resolve any cracking sound issues. I have already begun work on it, stay tuned! Peace
Outlaw Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) Same clicking sound coming from CockpitAfterburner.ogg The start and end of this file doesn't match and since it works as a loop we hear the clicking sound..( not sure but that's what I think ) I replaced it with original one and works good now, just different sound also replaced the CockpitSystems.ogg since the new one is 2 low and I dont want to bother increasing it love this pack Edited May 24, 2010 by Outlaw Specs: 13900k @ 5.5Ghz, 64GB @ 3600Mhz, 3080Ti.
topol-m Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Hey Fusion can you make the sound of the sidewinder in search/lock modes a bit louder? Kind of sounds too low compared to other sounds in the cockpit  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team c0ff Posted June 4, 2010 ED Team Posted June 4, 2010 Sound may click due to bad choice of loop points. Also, exceeding dynamic range should not produce clicks, because renderer runs final mix through a look-ahead limiter. Dmitry S. Fahhh Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Interesting... when flying the MiGs(both 29A and 29S) I don't get any sound clicking or cracking. When I step in the flanker though things go bad. Kind of weird, I think they use the same sound files and yet I get different results...
