Mate if u said this to me about Sennheiser, then read caerfully post where im talking about headphones without MIC ;), now do i need to put link for every headphones!?;):)

I was addressing everyone in general. Well, at least those who think gaming headphones is the bee's knees, given the chance to go with hi-fi gear.

As for reading your posts more carefully... To be perfectly honest, I have such a hard time understanding you, with all the spelling, typos, grammar (incl. punctuation), that I'm not sure it would do much good... Sorry.

Here above i am talking about good Sennheiser that is not from gaming program and from gaming program, which part do you not understand well, grammar, spelling etc. I would really like to know so then i could make some progress in my english. I use it only stuff i have learn in high school and that was long time ago, cheers,S! ;)

As an aside (and we'll allow that to be the extent of this particular derail): Zeljava, if you want to improve your english my recommendation would be to purchase a few books - preferably novels since they contain more "normal" english than technical literature, as well as a dictionary. That's how I did most of my english studies: I read a few books and whenever I rand into something I didn't understand I checked my dictionary. The neat thing here is that you get to have fun while learning, since the grammar comes naturally this way instead of spending weeks and months trying to learn the grammar as if it was a mathematical problem. :)

Agreed tho, Sennheiser is nice, but I'm still not entirely certain that they're worth the money. Really need to ensure that your sound hardware is up to the job when laying out money on something as expensive as a marque headset.

Thx for advice for the books ;)...but what do you wanna say that you not sure that they not worth the money!?... i had it, Sennheiser HD 205, dj and studio version. I bought it only for listening my music cos of neighbor, my woofer was to loud in that time, but if we come to the game with that kind of headphones with price of 60EUR, then mate you will hear real "thunderstorm" around your head in real meaning of that word ;) btw i have Creative X-Fi Xtreme music sound card, but now with on board realtek sound chip you can have decent sound and in gaming, S!

Yeah, I use Realtek onboard though my next machine will have a motherboard that includes an X-Fi. My point really is that if you are using a regular onboard and wants to spend €60 on a better sound experience you might be better off spending 30 or 40 on a card and the rest on carefully selected headset. The important thing to look for really is the Hz range and you can get away with pretty cheap kits that cover everything the ear can hear.

That said, I did end up sinking roughly €60 into a Razer Piranha headset which I am quite happy with and it will be interesting to see what it can do when I have my new machine and it's X-Fi.

Well it gona boost ur headset with X-Fi that`s for sure...but i don`t get this one "Hz range in what, card or headphones"?

My point is this: there's no point getting a fantastic headset if your sound card doesn't feed the headset a good audiostream for the entire range of human hearing.

Example: Razer Piranha has a Hz coverage from 18Hz all the way to 22kHz. If the sound cirquit on the computer only outputs a good stream from 22Hz to 20kHz, someone who purchased that Piranha has basically spent money on things he ain't going to get any use of. Now, Realtek is thankfully relatively good in this department, but people who have a non-enthusiast motherboard might want to doublecheck the specification on their integrated sound if they do not have addin sound. A good headphone will do nothing to improve your audio if your sound chip is crap, or for that matter if there's faulty connectors and plugs on the audio interface at the case or motherboard, just the same way as a good sound card will do nothing if your headphones or speakers are crap.

Actually, no they don't. I did a quick look through the Razer selection and most of them weren't even there in that range.

A good consumer, if missing charts, will compare frequency coverage and then do something extremely radical in the shape of reading reviews and tests of the product. The frequency range is a guide so you can have a look at which products are worth looking closer on so you don't end up with five hundred candidates. ;)

That may be the case with quality brands, but most low-ends will try to cheat you quite bad. I.e. i just found (just after looking on an eshop) a philiphs for 6euros with 12Hz -22Khz range.

Also, I would choose earphones 20hz-20Khz with a flat frequency response over a 18hz-22Khz with a himalaya topography as a fq response chart everyday.

The best shoot is ofc (as you mentioned) reading a review, or user experience.

Put a mic on some good headphones, headsets are a waste of money.

They charge ridiculous sums for crap sound quality and poor plastic build.

I'm using some beyerdynamic DT880 with microphone attached.

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'

What type mic are you putting on there?

I must say that this is a very good idea. In the time when i had my HD 205 Sennheiser i have put mic. on it manually, and you can imagine what was my experience, awesome, amazing. But after a while, it become too hard for summer time. They are big and ears are sweating very fast since i do not have air condition system. But if we read all this thread, the conclusion is to buy GAMING SENNHEISER HEADSET, cos they are not big, specifications are true and price is not big at all, cos you can use them after gaming for some nice listening of music;) cheers and have a nice day!

P.S. Sensitivity in Decibels in specs. are maybe the most important thing when buying speakers or headphones, but i know, someone will not agree with me;)

Well mate, u said it all, not one mistake...but if i have to chose between good card or good headphones, cos let`s say i have money only for one thing-Ill go for a good Headphones. Now i have my X-Fi and some Jetion headsets and the thing is that they are good for FC and for Team Speak or Skype, but when it comes to the music, i am looking where the heck my bass disappeared, no way you can equalize that headsets with very good Sound Card, so if u have Realtek integrated sound card, you can go easily for good Headsets or Headphones and put it manually mic. on it like Yoda did it. Cheers, S!

Agreed 100%.

You always pay a LOT more for a headset as compared to a set of equal headphones. And the crappy mic rarely compensates for that money.

I have a Sennheiser PC 151 (early version) headset from a gamebundle and it's quite good, comparing sound and comfort.

But when I really want to get the maximum out of my X-Fi for a longer time, I go for my Technics F880. The sound is clear in all ranges, great for music, stunning for gaming. The frequency goes down to 8Hz - well below audible range, but you definitely feel the difference compared to other headsets. Especially with the F880's large membrane (4cm+). No artificial vibration needed. :music_walkman:

For communication I added a simple mic and added a mute-switch. Simple design, works great.

I'd like to hear more about that too! For you folks that are adding a mic to a set of headphones, what mic are you using (with what headphone), and how did you mount it?

Thanks!

Well i believe that they sound good, but are you sure that they go from 8Hz, it`s so amazing low frequencies??? Do you have some link about them, i believe they are some from oldish products???
