bigdog4215 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 How do you edit files? For example,I want to edit the water to improve fps.
leafer Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\BlackShark\data\scripts\options.lua Water = 1 change it to 0 I got heaps of FPS after setting it to 0. Went from 49-51 fps to 70-73 during start-up routine. Flying over water and heading away from land the counter stayed around 130ish. Flying over towns killed off loads of fps when I had the detail on high. I can't remember the exact number but the counter surges from 30ish to 50ish. I think I read somewhere that if you capped the fps to 60 then set the monitor refresh rate to that amount, you'd get a little bump in fps? Frederf Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Editing the water texture file or editing the game's text configuration files to use a less-demanding water rendering method? For LUA/CFG edits I suggest Notepad2 program.

Insanatrix Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I like notepad ++ because it has proper syntax for editing lua files.
Frederf Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Yeah, by default Notepad++ (or Notepad2) use a fixed width font with proper line numbering and all that. Windows's built-in notepad can corrupt your LUA edits because it doesn't support properly all of the Russian fonts and formatting stuff that are already in the LUA files.
