I also don't have a quantum mechanics degree, but I saw right though poor work when it was presented, too. All I needed was to know the basics.

And I suggest you ask the RAAF on their opinion of Kopp instead of asking for my resume, and judge the material on its merit, which you are not doing.

Kopp's flown the Hornet. Have you?. Do you advise the RAAF on military radar systems and have you had publications published by the RAAF and USAF?. Have you written and published books on radar systems?. Do you have a first class honors in Electrical engineering?. Have you ever received awards for publications on EWR?. No you haven't have you.

The only agenda I see is that certain people on this forum are in the habit of character sniping Carlo Kopp because allot of his publications don't agree with their beliefs.

Right, I mean, you can't possibly see something iffy when he picks, consistently, the longest ranges he can possibly find on the internet for russian missiles, and the shortest ones possible for US ones. I mean, just as one example.

And yet we have range diagrams from the real deal available showing us that he's twice overstating Russian missile ranges and understanding US ones.

Of course it doesn't. I just don't see any evidence to back up the character sniping and I'm almost sure if his publications were crap they would not be endorsed by the RAAF, USAF, IEEE, AIAA and many other instituions.

Poor work?. Your character sniping again. You're not qualifed nor experienced enough to make those types of statements.

You really should look into Kopp's career. Which part of the fact that the USAF, RAAF, AIAA, RAND have all endorsed him and his publications don't you understand?.

In fairness... they all will endorse his publications cause it all is part of the same Agenda. ie. MOAR F-22's already!

More F-22's?. His publications are mainly about radar/EW not the F-22. The F-22's dead I highly doubt we'll see anymore. RAND are not a huge fan of the F-22 either.

You don't have money to buy it. Portugal is in big financial trouble, very close to where Greece is. And, the missile is available and Russian Air Force is getting all kinds of new things, thus RVV-SD might already bee in Russian inventory!

BTW, where did you get that ETA info?

Its not in service yet. ETA for service entry with Su-35 and whatever Su the T-50 gives origin to.

Yes, RVV-SD is a new missile available for purchase. It is advertised on manufacturer web site. Do you have money?

BTW, the missile name is RVV-SD, which implies that is not an export version.

not RVV-AE, RVVAE-SD is a new missile.

Haj get a clue. Were not like Greece who hidden their state of economy for years. We have 3%+ deficit limit problem, NOT the same thing.

We have money

Ongoing programs:

2 U-214 Submarines have been ordered, 1 delivered, 1 to go, sea trial tests soon. The first Hydrogen fuel cell powered ships in Europe and the best conventional submarine anywhere. 500 million a piece.

2 more frigates delivered.

37 Leopard IIA6's with 18 more on option.

260 PandurII Armored vehicles, including tank busters and missile platforms, amphibious versions etc etc.

12 C-295 on order, 6 delivered.

12 recently purchased EH 101

12 more NH90 ordered.

6 P-3 planes with CUP upgrades, out of a batch of 5 airframes bought from the Netherlands in recent years.

26 F-16 MLU conversions completed, 13 to go.

We bought AIM-120C for this fleet in 2008-2009 and them some! Forget RVVAE-SD bah who wants them when you already have the best? :devil_2:

etc etc.

So whats your point?

Isn`t the U-214 based on the U-212? U-212 use fuel cells as well.

Yep, some guy with a Masters degree spent three years doing nothing. I saw the presentation, and I knew it was poor work - and people with much higher qualifications than myself confirmed it.

Which part of 'we have data that shows Kopp is wrong' did you not get?

U-212 Submarines are coastal shallow water vessels. They are limited by treaties and due to installed combat systems they cannot fire cruise missiles either, just torpedoes. Our U-214's use latest gen fuel cells and are deep ocean vessels, are not limited by treaties and can fire both torpedoes and underwater launched cruise missiles.

Although I should have conceded the Germans did sail with fuel cells for years now. My bad.

Look at any one of his presented ranges for R-27R, then look at real diagram from MiG-29 or Su-27 diagram.

R-27R1, on P3 of this PDF: http://www.ausairpower.net/DT-AAM-Evolution-March-2009.pdf

Real range diagram attached.

Yeah he made a mistake on the distance of the R-27!?!. Does that really justify the character sniping? or discredit everything he says and sneer at people who speak his name?. We all make mistakes, get over it. He still knows more about Radar and EW systems than this forum knows as a collective.

Do you honestly think you know more than Carlo Kopp does about airbourne weapon systems GG?...

Well, you did not get it? Try little harder next time ...

Portugal credit rating was yet again downgrade few weeks ago and government will have to sell bonds to rise money. Thus, you DON"T have money, you borrow money. Furthermore, I am sure you know what P.I.G.S. stands for right?

And its not RVVAE-SD, oh boy ...

Credit rating one level down...pfffff...still pretty good, is that the best you can do?

Kopp has flown IN a Hornet but he has not operated the Hornet. Kopp is not well regarded in Australian Defence circles.

Riptide you make a very good point on Missile storage and Missile prep.

It's not that it matters if he has flown it once or twice. Just like that pilot in the now closed topic where he "reviewed" the MiG-29, but didn't have a slightest clue how it was suposed to be flown.

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
