Finally got mine-yay!; Original cost=400; shipping=200; customs and tax=400; total cost=anal rape.

What got me is that they calculated customs based on price+shipping, then calculated tax based on price+shipping+customs. So I'm paying tax on customs! The F*CK?

Is the outer switch on the left throttle looser than the switches on the base (e.g. the APU switch)?

I actually suspect it is looser by design. If it took the same pressure to toggle as those on the base there is no way you could toggle it with your pinky with out moving your hand from the throttle. Also more pressure would probably cause you to change throttle settings when you toggled it.

Yes-I read that the pressure required to work the switches is based on the real thing. Just can't help getting paranoid when I stare at the thing and think what the hell have I done lol.

Anal rape is cheaper, dont worry, you re not alone, here in Brasil they calcuate the tax over product price + shipping. I m in the same boat, but the boat is a little shorter cause they don t taxe twice.

Lots of countries work like this:

Customs Duty is calculated on Goods+Delivery.

Gst/tax/vat is calculated on CustomsDuty+Goods+Delivery.

Add the four together and bingo.

Also the exchange rate, for calculating Goods&Delivery costs, they use might be fixed for the month (not what the up-to-the-minute exchange rate is)

But 400 is obscene...you might want to check on your govt website that they used correct rates (&classified item correctly).

I've had the people dealing with my imported products (Royal Mail) calculating/collecting duty+tax on behalf of Uk customs, and get it totally wrong...eventually got it re-assessed after emailing them an excel spreadsheet and links to their own information.

That joke is that someone who had F*ck all to do with a product makes as much off it as the people who researched, developed, manufactured, marketed and sold the thing. Anyway, I hope my contribution to whichever government officials's vacation fund will be appreciated.

It took 2 weeks to get the WH to Belgium, then 2 days to get out of Belgium borders and then...just 9 hours to get at my door.

But hey! Its here. :) This on the same day I purchased an NVIDIA 470GTX card to replace my old 9800GX2 that died 2 days ago.

The wallet suffered though :D

Updated. :) I took a quick look inside the WH package and was wowed by it. The dismounted stick handle alone weights half a kilogram

Im keeping it saved till the day thrustmaster releases the new FIRMware to avoid the throttle sudden death bug.

About the 470 didnt notice much increase in DCS or LOMAC, but Ill try the my RTS games later that WILL take advantage of this beast.

unpacked it, and wow I totally have to rethink a profile for this beast. Arent some of the switches almost too frail to manipulate? namely the red 3 position switch on the right throttle and the thumb hat on the stick.

LOL your the first to have inserted "Whartog" and "frail" on the same sentence.

If you snap those off while flying, you need to seriously restrict your sugar / meth intake.

I seriously think I'd be easier to physically break something on yoke in my real airplane than on this beast.
