Hey All,

Installed the latest BATA DCS A-10C

When I run the app and select the training missions it takes > 7 minutes for the mission to load before starting.

After starting my frame rates vary between 1 frame per second to 1 frame every 20 seconds or so.

System:

P4 3.0 GHz up

1.024 GB Ram

Ge Force 7600 GS video with 256 MB video RAM

Windows XP Home Edition

SP3

I know the basic spec calls for 2 GB RAM. I will add that tomorrow.

Any helpful feedback is appreciated.

That 256MB on your video card is also not enough, don't know if that falls in MIN specs, probably need 512MB, and also your CPU is not very fast... you could try use all lowest settings in game and don't use any AA or AF or HDR etc... but that won't look good

Also you only have 1 gig of ram and like Kuky said your video card cold use an upgrade. I don't have the game but I have a 8800GT and I wonder how that would do coupled with my quad core 2.4 and 4 gigs of ram.

The 8800 will be ok with low-medium settings on the current beta. Your CPU might hold you back though. Granted, it's a quad..but sims like this run better with a higher raw cpu speed rather than multiple cores.

To the OP,

Your ram and gpu are below minimum specs and that is what is causing your lockups. If turning every graphic setting down to the bare minimum doesn't help...i'm afraid you are either going to have to do an overhaul to your computer, or wait until the final release when things get a litle bit more optimized. And even then, i'm not sure your current configuration would do all that well.

I have a friend that has a 8500 and a 260 and thw A-10C looked stunning on his computer. With the new cards coming out soon and Christmas and 3 birthdays coming up, looks like I have to wait til about March to get a new computer.

Also if you read the FAQ the current public beta is unoptimized. The subsequent releases up until the final product should be more and more optimized and run better.

Yes Blaze, we get the fact that the beta is not optimized. Don't think it's necessary to post it in every single thread regarding performance issues. Especially when we are talking about the hardware listed in the OP's post ;)

Considering the numerous posts and complains about the low FPS on better PCs both in the beta-forum and in the A-10C forum, it's pretty obvious: this can't be stated often enough.

And while I'm at it: It's a beta. And there is a reason why it's referred to as "Beta01".

A pretty dated beta too, considering what build the Testers Team is probably up to by now. :P

Also why I'm at it as well: Aren't all hardware-related issues with A-10C to be posted in the closed beta forum anyway? ;)
