asparagin Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Besides, incriminating consume brings youngsters in contact with dubious people, who not only they merchandise grass but also real drugs. This situation is a danger for them, and IMO is why grass got it's reputation of a gateway drug. I hope the economy reason will help this to be accepted. Frostie Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Thought this world was trying to discourage the plague of casual smoking. With alcohol reaching epic levels of consumption by the underaged, common sense should prevail. Most of us have experienced the wonders of da weed and most have seen what a life wasting drug it is if used excessively. To legalise it adds another plight on the future prospects of the next generation. But in the end freedom of choice is the buzz word of the last 50+years, for good or bad we'll all see the results. 2 "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. asparagin Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 Thought this world was trying to discourage the plague of casual smoking. With alcohol reaching epic levels of consumption by the underaged, common sense should prevail. I understand and agree that the legalization will not have only positive effects. But you have also to consider: Most of us have experienced the wonders of da weed and most have seen what a life wasting drug it is if used excessively. Depends on character. If someone can't deal with excesses, he will have either way problems with some vice, if it's not grass then it will be WOW or Heroin. However, the accessibility to the young generation is indeed what I consider a problem. But it will rather add to the problem of accessibility of alcohol, guns, whatever, then just be a problem of it's own. I think also, that there are more positive effects (see previous posts), so in total, it's a good thing. But in the end freedom of choice is the buzz word of the last 50+years, for good or bad we'll all see the results. Indeed. 104th_Crunch Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Almost every drug out there is worse than pot. Alcohol and tobacco IMO waste WAY more lives. Stop wasting money fighting it and instead concentrate on the hard drugs like coke. It sickens me that such a soft core drug like pot is relegated to being supplied by underground crime and it is all because of the fact that it is illegal. Tax I think will have little effect since you can get good growing a small bit of pot at home.
Jinro Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) Almost every drug out there is worse than pot. Alcohol and tobacco IMO waste WAY more lives. That's because alcohol and tobacco are legalized, and thus used a lot more frequently than pot. When pot becomes legal, it will be the same as alcohol and tobacco. The US tried to ban alcohol a long time ago, and that didn't go so well. Tobacco should be banned in my opinion--it takes more lives than firearm-related deaths (per year in the US) and yet more people want to ban guns than they do tobacco...which doesn't make any sense to me. I had a pot-head in my class for 2 years. Damn good guitar player, but dumb as a rock. Edited October 26, 2010 by Jinro
bumfire Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Nobody ever declared war with a joint in his hand. I did, when I was alot younger and stupid, I declared war on someone when smoking a d00b, infact the war even started and quickly erupted to such a degree that the d00b died. :(

Pot is not really chemically advictive. You go through no physical withrawl symptoms, only mental want. Whereas alcohol and tabacco will actually make your body physically crave more when stopped. Take it from someone that unfortuately knows all 3 too well :) Excess of beer = drunken idiot, liver problems, drunk dangerous driving Excess of Tobacco = cancer Excess of Pot = someone who forgot where they put down the TV remote a minute ago :D
