Target ID question

Using the litening tp cam you id targets farther out and faster than in fc2, when you had to use the mavericks seeker head to id? I haven't been able to test it that much cause my stick makes the plane unstable. So I'll be getting a new one shortly. And is it really hard to play dcs A-10C without TIR? Can it be done though,such as substituting the mouse for track ir.

Not hard if it's what you are used to. The immersion factor with head tracking (doesn't necessarily have to be trackIR) on the other hand, is a huge step forward. You will only be able to comprehend once you've tried. After that, there is no going back.

I was Lucky and got a track ir 3 with pro clip on ebay for £0.99p + £1.50 pp about 3 weeks ago so have a look about somtimes thay come up cheap and it great i'll never use a mouse for veiwing again

Yep no going back. Once you use the TIR you'll feel like an idiot every time you try to play without one because you'll be moving your head around and wondering why the screen doesn't move with you.

I demonstrated mine for a mate a few years ago, in IL2, he thought it was silly and of no use. Now he sits with a TIR5 in MS Flightsim X all days long. The one sim where it isn't really needed!

 

As for mine (TIR 4) I sold it along with my HOTAS Cougar, years ago, and I regret that transaction still today! (even more since I still have saitek rudder pedals with toe brakes in a closet)

 

But I were getting fat from just sitting and playing sims all the time, and needed some fast cash to by a mountainbike.

 

Now I'm fat, have 2 bikes, but no TIR at all :(
