Steel Jaw Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I follow the start up guide from the manual and from Wags video. The last thing I try to do is load all in the DTS. It does nothing, does not load, does not give me the astericks. Anyone know why that is? GGTharos Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Impatience :D Or, make sure your CDU is booted before you load from DTS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Revelation Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) What GGTharos says is true. When you start your CDU in the process of a ramp start, you'll notice on the second line that it states "IFFCC NOT RDY." Wait for this to go away and you'll see "DTS UPLOAD COMPLETE;" (or something to that effect) then turn on your MFDs and your IFFCC to test mode. You should get an asterick everytime. Frederf Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 It's been working for me. There are asterisks, then you press "LOAD ALL" which extinguishes them, then after some time (~15 sec) the asterisks come back to indicate completion. I don't know exactly what has to be on and ready for this to work but there is some requirement. As far as I can figure out you can't switch MFD pages until you get most/all of your DTS loaded.

Steel Jaw Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 Can I do the DTS load all BEFORE the INS fully is aligned but after the CDU says DTS upload complete? JHepburn Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Can I do the DTS load all BEFORE the INS fully is aligned but after the CDU says DTS upload complete? Yup, I do it all the time.
arteedecco Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I was running into this problem and would have to restart my avionics power-on checklist. What I determined to work (can someone explain why?) is (with engines running) flip both of the following to ON: 1. CDI Power Switch; and 2. EGI Power Switch then immediately turn the following to ON / TEST: 1. CICU 2. JRS 3. IFFCC It must have to do with timing, but could it be a bug? Reason being, I know that the DTS UPLOAD COMPLETE message has been showing but no asterisk appeared next to any of the MFCD OSBs, including LOAD ALL. You can press it all day long and get nowhere. I will have to double-check for the IFCC NOT READY message but I am fairly certain it isn't showing. The problems seem to be if you follow the BETA 2 manual for startup (Set Up Auxiliary Avionics Panel (AAP), p. 424) and switch the CDI and EGI to ON with just the APU running then get both engines up and running, then switch the CICU, JRS, and IFFCC to ON / TEST (starting p. 431). I also never see mention in the manual to use the MFCD to LOAD ALL. Any thoughts? asparagin Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 flip both of the following to ON: 1. CDI Power Switch; and 2. EGI Power Switch then immediately turn the following to ON / TEST: 1. CICU 2. JRS 3. IFFCC If you do it like this, actually it shouldn't work, you have to wait after powering the CDU until you see that HSI is alligned. arteedecco Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Odd because that is what makes it work. Otherwise I don't get the asterisks next to the OSBs on the MFCDS and cannot load mission data. Scabbers Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 all you have to wait for is the PBIT on the CDU to complete and goto the main screen Now where is that speed brakes control again? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Steel Jaw Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 After the Bit test wait for the DTS upload complete message on the CDU line 2 which follows like 20 seconds afterwards.
