You want to make sure that the DLL (tars_64.dll or tars_32.dll depending on your platform) in the Teamspeak 3 plugin folder is version 1.0.1.8. Just check its properties.

 

If you're still having weird issues definitely send me the log. We spent many hours testing this last night; my tester was 118 NM away and I could hear her fine at 32,000 feet.

Teamspeak also has a "record" mode, if you want to send me a short recording of you guys talking at distance that would be cool too--I can analyze it.

Headspace - we're having the same issues as JaBoG32_Laud above, submitted a bug report and log on the TARS website. I did make sure the .ddl version was correct. Also did a fresh install of TS and TARS tonight and still have these issues (extreme static even at close, visual range and inaudible beyond 15 nm or so).

I'll make some adjustments but it would be helpful to have audio. Can any of you (who are having issues with static or inaudibility) make a recording? Be sure to specify the distances involved. Thank you.

Headspace, it would be great, if the TARS volume in the nearest distance would be same as TS3. I basically adjusted the volume in TS3 so that it`s good aligned with ingame sound. But if TARS sound is much lower, it`s hard to understand inflight.

33rd_Shark: Yes, I was considering that. Let me gather additional recordings from people before additional changes are made. I will just keep releasing betas until the largest number of people are satisfied with the sound. Since everyone hears differently it will be different for everyone.

This is without recording cockpit & world noises, so I'd say the real sound in cockpit is at least 20% worse than these recordings. We did notice that after about 15 miles, there isn't much more degradation beyond that out to about 70 miles (furthest we tested).

The current TARS works with TS3 3.0.0, which is their current public release.

 

edit: Now that I've figured out what's going on expect to see a lot less static in the next one.

I created a prerelease version of the plugin for testing. Those who want to participate please download it here. Drop the correct version of it (64 or 32) into your Teamspeak 3 plugins folder, replacing your existing TARS.

 

I need feedback on static and volume levels. Close together, and airborne at distance. Thank you.

The new plug-in works great, Headspace. Tested at 20 miles each on ramps, 140 miles each at altitude, and 140 mi at low altitude. All scenarios sounded realistic, with quality dropping appropriately with range, altitude, line of sight, etc. THANKS!

Just a heads up. TS3 3.0.1 is out and does not work with TARS. So don´t update your TS client!

If you already did it and you need the old client go and klick me.

 

BTW thanks Headspace for this nice program!!!
