I can't figure out which keys are currently unassigned by the sim I generally map TIR on/off and recenter to my HOTAS but I'm also wondering if you TIR users are using zoom.

I'll need to find spare keys for Teamspeak PTT and FRAPS on/off too, so any info re. unused keys would be very welcome. I tried INS AND DEL for FRAPS but there were conflicts.

Arrow Up = Recenter

Arrow Down = On/Off

Then clear them in the options control area of the sim as you don't need them if you have a joystick.

The other two arrow keys - left and right can be used for the rest

Numpad - and numpad / for percision on and off.

If you have the new Warthog stick, I read that you can assign button presses rather than keys in v5 of the TIR software. I haven't tried it yet, but it could be another option :)

I use one hat from my joystick.

Hat Up - Field of View zoom

Hat down - FOV zoom back

Hat Left - TIR Center

Hat left + shift - TIR Pause

Hat right - Teamspeak

All use directx button presses, not keystrokes. Doing this I could not make a 1 for 1 copy of the actual A-10C stick with my CH stick, but real A-10C pilots don't use TIR and zoom :)

Thanks guys. Hey Crunch, or any one of you, can you advise me on a small issue with TIR and A-10? I haven't used TIR in about a year now (I have TIR 5) but it looked to me when I fired it up that it updates itself via the user GUI; when I updated this way, A-10 found its way into the games list. However, 2 problems occured:

- The Pause, Recenter and Precision commands don't "stick" when I change the key assignments and I have to do it again every time I start TIR.

- The above commands, default or changed, work perfectly in the TIR camera screen, whether sent from my keyboard or from my CH HOTAS, but they never work in the sim.

I'm wondering if the integrated updater is something minor and maybe I need to uninstall my current, year-old TIR software/drivers the old-fashioned way, in Windows and install the new ones (Beta 5.0?). Can anyone advise? Many thanks.

Just to make sure: Did you save your profile after changing the hotkeys?

And make sure the right profile is associated with the game, since hotkeys may be changed according to the profile.

Or you can just use 1 profile for every game (tick "exclusive" box).

For the commands not being saved, I get this as well. Make your changes to the profile, then click the save icon. Then go to games list and select the profile beside the listing for A-10C. Then EXIT the TIR software. Don't start your sim, exit the TIR software then start again to verify changes were saved.

Make sure if you have Win 7 64bit or Vista 64 bit that when when you install A-10C, you choose the x86 files to install. The 64-bit version of A-10C is not supported by the TIR software. If you are using a 32-bit operating system, then this is not an issue as the x86 files are installed by default.

Thanks. I have only attempted to run TIR in the 32-bit A-10 executable, so that would not appear to be the problem.

I'm sure the profile saving procedures you guys suggest will cure that issue.

Most baffling (and troublesome) is the failure of the TIR commands in-game. I'm probably missing something very obvious, such as installing updated TIR drivers/software in Windows, but I'm hoping that someone can confirm whether this is necessary or if the updater in the TIR GUI covers this.
