cueceleches Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Well, impressive, very impressive. I quit playing lomac a few months ago (especially when Silent Hunter III came out) and when I saw that Simware was selling Flaming Cliffs in CD, I went for it. I must say it´s one of the best products I´ve ever bought. I did enjoy flying Lomac long before, but flying the Su 25T is a new challenge and visually way so beautiful. I´m still playing around with it, getting to know it better and better control its systems and most of all, the new ACM. The feelings when flying this brute full loaded is very impressive. I was astonished the first time as when I pulled the stick to make a tight turn, it stalled and I crashed in a beautiful fireball. I only wish all flyables were the way the Su is modelled...Anyway, it promises lots of hours of fun, so thanks to the dev team for creating such a wonderful product.

Gotta say I was unhappy with LOMAC after all the hype and left before the patches came out for the original, but FC is great and I find myself playing what should have been the original release. This is great!
Witchking Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 amen! Flaming CLiffs is a benchmark in FLIGHT SIMULATION as Silent Hunter III is to naval sims. but both are not with their small bugs...but they are overall CLASSIC GAMES. BOPrey Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Well, impressive, very impressive. . FC would be much much better if every plane had the AFM. Well, waiting for the next version.
cueceleches Posted June 7, 2005 Author Posted June 7, 2005 The new ACM is really good...While landing the previous Su25 was a piece of cake, I made some tries yesterday in landing the Su25T. I found no real difficulties, but once on the ground after touch down, the steering was sensitive! I almost got into a nearby bunker...Nevertheless, the feeling of actually "flying" an aircraft is there. On the other hand, and after having flown a few missions already, I find that I have to pay much more attention into flying the aircraft than before. I mean, flying is no more a matter of pulling and pushing the stick, there are quite a bunch of other factors affecting the way the plane flies which you have to pay attentio to...especially trimming, constantly trimming, at every stage of the flight. Well, I affirm myself even more: impressive product, HIGHLY impressive.

cueceleches Posted June 8, 2005 Author Posted June 8, 2005 Right on the spot! I tried last night the crosswind landing mission...8 times til I managed to more or less touch down! Wow!

cueceleches Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 I only use trim if I've lost an engine! I feel there is something wrong there, as even for the other russian planes without ACM, trimming is a must at all times to keep the plane stable. Especially when accelerating and decelerating. For the SU25T is even more true, as trim is necessary at every stage: weapons release, fuel comsumption, etc...not only when there is damage.
Weta43 Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 SUB17- you never trim - really? Didn't trim much in 1.02, but AFM needs it - are you flying with the response curves still set as for the non-afm planes (non-afm S curved, afm / straight - curved on the afm damps the responsiveness of the controls) or do you just prefer to fly with the stick pushed right over between weapon releases ? Cheers.
SUBS17 Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Yeah, I don't bother with the trim, lol my stick won't roll left. I'm hoping to get a new stick soon, until then you'll all see me rolling right to make left turns, or using the autopilot to level off. It makes for some hairy moments and some good crashes. Aside that I counter the opposite forces by moving the stick or rudder. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
cueceleches Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 Wow, so you must find hard times flying the Su25T in this case!
SUBS17 Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Sometimes, hopefully today I'll have it sorted. There is a little bit of opposite roll but not much(I use autopilot to level off). I stripped my stick and found the insulation had exposed the wire for the roll axis. Eventhough I patched it up it still is behaving like that so my guess is its the pot. When I get my new stick it should be much better(X-45, sometime in the next couple of days). The beauty of the x-45 is that it has a rudder, I intend to use that axis for my second engine controller on a twin throttle sometime later on when I can get some good specs or a mold on a Hornet Hotas.
