mtuckner Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Okay, in realistic comms, in order to communicate with ground crew I understand you have to drive to the ramp, park the A10C, rotate the knob on the comm panel clockwise until Int is vertical, push in the Int button, then push in the Hot Mic button. Then I should be able to go into the comm menu with F8 and select to refuel. I can't get this to work for the life of me. I have realistic comms on but I can't comm with the ground crew. I was able to do it fine with the easy comms using \ but this is not working. What is the trick or what am I doing wrong? :helpsmilie:
WarriorX Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I have been trying to get Ground Crew to work consistently as well, but it does work. Some airbases do not seem to be set up yet with Ground Crew Capability. I dont have a working list, but I will start one. I seem to remember in Black Shark the Farp had to have a certain compliment of support vehicles present to be able to repair/reload The steps you showed above are mostly correct, but the knob position should be OUT for it to work. Push in on the Hot Mic, and then pull out and you should get a comm menu. You will know your successful when Ground Crew replies to your request. mtuckner Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Okay, well I tried every combination possible at Batumi while flying Operation Pushback a mission released by COUGAR.
skouras Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 its not work for me either... nomdeplume Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I've used it a few times with beta 4 and all I've needed to do was press the HM button twice to get the menu to appear. You do need a generator running, either the engines or APU. Had no problems rearming at Gudauta, so you might want to try it there. Landed from the south, turned left at the end of the runway and stopped on the taxiway with engines running.
okmerflow Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 It works for me most of the time. You don't need to rotate or push anything, just call up the comm menu and select the groundcrew. Sometimes it doesn't work but when you taxi to another area it works fine. But indeed not all the airfields are available for rearming/refuel.
WarriorX Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Just confirmed Kobuleti works for fuel/rearm. Contacted Ground Crew with Intercom Dial set to Intercom and to HF(UHF radio). Hot Mic down/up worked for Intercom Dial Position, and Mic Switch Down worked for HF Intercom Dial Position. Got text/faint audio response from Ground Crew. Hot Mic down/up worked for Intercom Dial Position, and Mic Switch Down worked for HF Intercom Dial Position. Got text/faint audio response from Ground Crew. Works for me too - I added a HMMWV, fuel tanker, and transport truck to Kobuleti airport, and ground crew works perfectly. Moved the exact same setup to Batumi and nothing happens. Must be still WIP. Another note for ED is that if you request another ground crew command before the first one is complete, the ground crew stops responding. You'll still get the radio confirmation, but nothing happens (you don't get refueled/rearmed). mtuckner Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 I found the way to fix the not responding (I think), is to taxi your plane a bit so the ground crew yells at you. Once you do that you can stop and request service again.

Lange_666 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Got the same problem with those guys. Made me some training missions in which i ramp start on Batumi. Up until beta 3 i always asked the groundcrew to disconnect external power after engines start and they always replied (nicely but text only). Since beta 4 (patched over beta 3) they refuse to respond. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. WarriorX Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Lange I think you need to have some support vehicles near your parking spot at the airbase to be able to get Ground Crew Service. Now, what specifically those vehicles are, I do not know. I just flew Operation Push Back in Multiplayer and was able to refuel/rearm at Batumi. I was not able to get the Ground Crew to respond near the spawn in point, only after I landed was I able to taxi to the center of the airfield and park next to 3 vehicles that were near the tower. The vehicles looked like 1 UAZ jeep, and 2 fuel trucks. They were all olive drab color. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" Frederf Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 You do not need extra ground equipment at all normal airfields. Each airfield has a central point in space of ground service and a maximum range. Batumi parking spot #24 is outside this range but #3 is within range. I use the INT position of the rotary switch, cycle the INT volume-pull knob, or even the VHF/UHF radios, they all work with any state of intercom settings. The audible "copy" is localized to the service radius origin so oftentimes you're simply too far away to physically hear it. Refuel service is sorta broken in that they never finish the task. If you ask for refuel you get "copy" but it never completes so subsequent tasks can't be done. You can break the stalemate by rolling forward a touch and the refueling task is forced off.
