mtuckner Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Great, that will be nice. Currently hiding in the hills from Mig-29s in Southbound while taking a break for some chow. Thanks for these great missions.
JEFX Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Greb, first of all, thanks for all this effort! I wanted to start playing your missions last night, and I started Southbound and just when I start to taxi the mission Crashes, twice it happened. I am wondering, what BETA are they made for? I am still playing BETA 3... JEFX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D
Furious Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Played Southbound twice, really enjoyed it. Got whipped by a Mig29 the first time as an F15 had crashed into a truck on the taxi, preventing at least 3 flights from taking off. Second time, managed to take off after my wingman crashed into a truck zooming along the taxiway, but the other flights cleared the Migs and I managed to wipe out 3/4 targets groups. Got home on one engine, no MFDs, no instruments - just the HUD. Fun all round!! Cheers for the missions, perhaps calm the pesky trucks down a little on the airfield... ~S~

If you can wait until the A10 C's land. I like to watch them as I sit at the end of the taxiway. Sounds like you are getting in the Air Really quick. Wait for that Fuel truck to leave and clear you and your wingy and then head for runway. Let me know if that works for ya, and I will take a look at it.

Greb Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 New Mission for ya! I have really been advancing at choreographing ground activity, got a new surprise in this one for Airfield Activity. Mission is called "Blood For Oil". Two JTAC's in the City, and then you go weapons free, one man flight. Read the Brief. See File - "Blood For Oil" in the initial post.
JEFX Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah Bud I built them in Beta 4 so that is probably your issue. ...you having problems with 4 and went back to 3 I take it? No, I am not like everyone else : anticipating each new beta like a xmas gift... I am perfectly happy to learn gradually all the systems and the game with beta 3 and I didt want to go through all the shit of tweaking a new version (controllers, key mappings, and so on), since it was widely accepted that beta4, despite its pluses, is not that great (I personnaly dont have too much performance issues). I decided to wait for either beta 5 or even later... But I must say that your missions look really great... Even enough to convince me to do the change some time in the near future (but I am too busy travelling for work right now, I just get a few hours a week to fly my beloved simulator:()... Jean-Francois Yeah Jean beta 4 has some issues, I'm sure they will be worked out. The biggest one for me in beta 4 is getting a target destroyed on or crossing a bridge, causing a to desktop crash. With any AI engagement it's gonna happen. Beta 5 sounds like a huge improvement. Can't wait!
JEFX Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah, same here, I will make it for Beta 5 for sure. Are you gonna update all your missions for Beta 5, because I really want to try them!" thanks JF [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... Are you gonna update all your missions for Beta 5, because I really want to try them!" thanks JF Hope they work if not....I got a lot of updating to do. In some ways it would be good too. I can fix, enhance, and eliminate a lot of stuff all at the same time.
Greb Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 Made an adjustment to "SP Blood For Oil REV 01". No matter what I did, I couldn't get the AH64's do do their one job and leave. They had to head for the city. Sometimes they would get there and die or chew up all the targets. Anyways! I change them over to AH1w's and they work great. Sorry for that! See File "SP Blood For Oil REV 02" in initial thread.
mtuckner Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Will check it out. I know that when I flew it, I took out my JTAC targets and those AH64s really wiped the remaining clean with extreme prejudice. Didn't have really any time to get some of those extras myself - there was a pretty light show below, however. Lots of tracers flying back and forth which was cool to watch.

Yeah they were driving me nuts. The Cobras seem to do what you tell them. They do they're thing and RTB. The whole purpose of the JTAC's was to get a visual on the other targets. Then the AH64's would come in and kill them all LOL!! WIP? ..... Bug? don't know!
Greb Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 New Mission for ya! "Mav D's before Dusk REV 01". Read the brief! Taking out Mobile artillery and supporting ground units. F16 SEAD with 2 - 2 Man flights of F15 providing CAPs. Watch out for those bandits! I like hitting the artillery units because they are a little softer then tanks and you can light them up with the cannon! Makes for some fun gun runs! Have Fun! See "SP Mav D's Before Dusk REV 01" in initial thread.
dane48 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Loved the troops running outside my plane while performing start up in the "Blood For Oil" mission. Now off to try your latest. "To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home."-----anonymous
Greb Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Yeah Dane that is a cool little animation. My wife came up with that. I had them running for a truck and she says have them run for that other chopper....hehehe!! I am just testing My "Mav D's Before Dusk" mission right now. I got it set up so if you take damage you are met at the runway by Fire Trucks....should be pretty cool if it works. Someone came up with the idea in another thread and I thought I would see if it's somewhat doable. If it is I will add it to all my new missions. Let ya know!
Greb Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Well I added the fire trucks when damaged. If you take damage Fire Trucks will be lined up along the runway when you return. This is just a simple activation visual but it looks pretty cool. Another member mentioned this idea and I thought I would try it out. This one is pretty simple, I will try and add a bigger animation and what not with the Fire trucks in my next mission. Give it a go and tell me what ya think. Have Fun See file "SP Mav D's Before Dusk REV 01 Fire Trucks" in Initial Thread.
Greb Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 New Mission for ya. High Altitude Air Defense bombing run with JTAC on scene as well as an Air Refuel on the way home. Keep your altitude stated in Steer point info, if you get to low Air Defenses will engage you. If you can't get to tanker, use alternate landing field at Sochi Adler. This is a IFR Night Flight. Wanted to do a long flight and this one fits the bill. Have your munchies handy as well as a urine bag....this one takes awhile. Have Fun! See File "SP Night Vulcher REV01-B4" in initial thread

See File "SP Night Vulcher REV01-B4" in initial thread Awesome mission... Flew it all the way through, killed all targets and came back for the refuel. One small problem..the tanker was actually stationed at 1000 feet not 10000 feet as it says.. but it was a lot of fun trying to connect to it in the dark 1000 feet off the deck anyway.. it finally broke away and i was right in front of Sochi so i put it down there. Had a blast with this one. Love all your work on these missions. keep em coming man !! :joystick::pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] please... please... please... let the next DCS module be an F-18 fighter aircraft :worthy:

What I like about this one is the time frame. You start out when the sky still has some light but by the time you get on target its totally dark. Glad you liked it Aylward! Greb Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Hey Folks just wanted to give you all that have played my missions an update of whats going on. Due to the economy here in the states I am having to return to my previous occupation. I have for the last few years been working as a Computer Field Technician. I have been a geek since the late 70's. The Radio Shack TSR 80 was my first PC and I was the first kid on my block to have an amber screen monitor. I have been an addict ever since. I live in a very rural area and work in my area is terribly slow and I very much do not desire to reside within the concrete jungle ever again. This week I will go back to driving commercially. I have driven the majority of my life and have always held my Commercial license as an ace up the sleeve, and it's time to pull it. I apologize for not updating or adding any new missions for the last several days. This week has been a ritual of gathering gear and tools, as well as purchasing certain items that you need when you live on the road. One of them is this new laptop I am writing this post on. It's not a top of line unit but it does have a 17 inch LED screen and it allows me to work in the Mission Editor within DCS A10C. I will be able to create missions to my hearts content, while living on the road. I do have several missions in the works and I have updated and polished all my current posted missions. I have fixed and eliminated any unnecessary trigger and items. I have added altitude settings to all way points and fixed dates and seasonal settings with end of mission parameters and messages. They are ready to go, and they should be posted sometime shortly. I, as well as everyone else, have been patiently waiting for the next beta to arrive, and what that will do to any current mission built in Beta 4. Anyways! I just wanted to give you all a heads up and let you know what I got going. I just wanted to thank everybody for the great input and putting up with some of the mistakes and/or errors in my missions. I have had and will continue to have a blast making them and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do creating them. Just wanted to Thank Matt and the whole ED team for creating DCS A10C. Flight sims are definitely a niche market and not chosen to be created by leading Gaming companies. Let's face it, if EA was going to try and do a sim like this ...they would just screw it up anyways. Money quite often gets in the way of creativity, and I am so glad as a flight sim junky ED hasn't contracted this disease. So everybody I will see on the flip side. Will be somewhere down the coast this time early next week. Trying to put a big fish in a small pond, some place in Los Angeles. Keep flying....and.....stay alert....stay alive! dane48 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Hey, Greb. Stay safe and glad you are able to keep up with doing missions which is something you enjoy. When at home, we know you'll be up in the sky. THanks for providing some real exciting missions. "To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home."-----anonymous
Greb Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 Your welcome Dane! More to come for sure. Got one I am posting today. It will be a show for sure. I still have the email you sent me. I have been short on time getting to it, but no worries I will get on it here shortly!
jeffyd123 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Greb... Do you work For World Wide? I do... Its slow where I moved to (Bend, Oregon). I was living in Pittsburgh before and was busy as hell but it drove me to the brink of insanity, LOL. i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor
