yonyz Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Hi, Reading the DCS Black Shark flight manual, I have encountered numerous switches to which the manual's description is "No function". Does it mean that those buttons do nothing in the simulation, but only in real life? An example for such a switch would be the Tracer switch of the Targeting Display Control Panel.
Boberro Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Yes either those things couldn't have been modelled due to game's limitations or there was no information about such thing at all. I've heard such IFF wasn't modelled due to game's limitations. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
msalama Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 AFAIK the IFF system was not modelled because it's still classified. And then there's some systems like the cockpit air conditioning that aren't really pertinent, and THEN - and what's more non-excusable ;) - there's things that they've just left unmodelled, like the OAT and electric subsystems (V/A main busses) gauges... joey45 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 For the A10c or the Ka-50? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. msalama Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 (edited) For the A10c or the Ka-50? Was the chopper I was talkin' about. PS / EDIT: And let me just add that the omissions aren't in any way grave IMO. To me the chopper's still the best sim AC of all time! Edited January 22, 2011 by msalama The DCS Mi-8MTV2. Boulund Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Indeed it is msalama, but still - a working outside air temperature gauge would sure be handy sometimes :) Core i5-760 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB DDR3, Geforce GTX470, Samsung SATA HDD, Dell UH2311H 1920x1080, Saitek X52 Pro., FreeTrack homemade cap w/ LifeCam VX-1000, Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1. msalama Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 ...a working outside air temperature gauge would sure be handy sometimes :) Oh, definitely. But I've a hunch that we may actually get one later on, the weather being more dynamic in DCS:A10 and everything. One can always hope at any rate :) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. ben1101 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Yes I really need to be able to work out the density altitude to understand the limitations of my engines on a given day ... :P i5 4690K, GTX1070, 24GB 1800mhz, HP WMR, Custom FFB helicopter controls.
muamshai Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I want my air conditioner working :mad: and by the way, Ka-50 could carry AA missiles because there is a AA missile jettison switch available in the cockpit :D This space is available for your advertisement

But in reality it doesn't carry ;) Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
