Just setting up a little intro since this is ALL brand new to me.

When I first heard TM had a new controller and there was a new Sim on the A-10C I got interested really fast and decided to build a simple pit that supports the controllers and TV. Got trackir, but feel like I am missing something. Is there any guide to get the best setup for DCS A-10C using trackir?

Thanks

I think this is quite personall to suit your needs. I spent an hour or 2 adjusting trackir 5 with trackirpro clip to suit me. I'm after one-to-one profile which allows clear, smooth movement without using zoom (FOV hard locked at 83), but it took me some time to deal with cockpit quirky different zones reaction behaviour. It seems that there are 2 zones: upper, closer to have a good HUD and outside view, and 2nd zone below it which allows great overview inside cockpit avionics. Going from 1 to 2 zone might be frustrating at the beginning, but comes as a nature with practice.

I increased smoothing to 30.

Plus increased the rate of movement on the pitch and yaw so that I don't have to turn or nod my head so far. Now just a small look down I can see my instruments.

Attached is my DCS/FC2 profile, it's a modified version of one that one of the Naturalpoint guys made.

Put the xml file in program files\naturalpoint\trackir\profiles.

Make sure to assign the profile to the correct games in the trackir program or they won't auto-load.

I cant get my trackir5 to work at all with DCS P51 on runway and I uninstalled software

for trackir5 and reinstalled and nothing works A10 is suppose to be the profile I downloaded

but it shows up as blackshark. No matter what I try, trackir does not function in game.

DCS World is, and probably always will be, seen as Black Shark by TIR but that does not prevent anything from working.

This is the best TIR setup tutorial that I have seen.

Now I cant get anything but Smooth, default, copy of default to show up for the

profile settings. I put many in the file area a10/Lukes/p51 and none of them

show up to actually choose them.

I run a default setup with the exception of changing the keystrokes to "Shift ****" to prevent problem with in game comms.

It works very well for all my FC3, A10C, P-51, and SU25 aircraft.

The only problem I had was due to me sitting too far back, that wasn't hard to change.

AFAIK, TIR profiles should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\Profiles

At least, that is where they are on my machine.
