StrongHarm Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I recently switched on "Head movement by g-forces in cockpit" and I love it. It feels much more immersive. Is there a reason this wouldn't be on by default? It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
BiPod Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I don't like it with TIR, and it makes it much harder to use mouseclicks while maneuvering. Off for me.
effte Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Any artificial head movement tends to mess you up when flying on instruments. In real life, pull your harness tight and hit the gym if your neck has the mechanical properties of a bungee cord. :) 1 ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.
Bushmanni Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I have hard time to feel the connection between stick inputs and aircraft movement when head movement is on. DCS Finland: Suomalainen DCS yhteisö -- Finnish DCS community -------------------------------------------------- SF Squadron

StrongHarm Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 I don't know if our settings are different, but I use TrackIR5 and my head movements aren't over exaggerated. It may be hard to flip a switch while pulling three Gs, but try it in real life. This is the kind of realism I've come to love and expect from ED! Le0kong Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I always leave it on, it help me know how much pressure i'm using when pitching up, and as StrongHarm said helps with immersion. It may wobble a bit too much to be real but still better then a rock hard neck, even with head tracking. In real life, you can rest your hand adjacent to the switch you need to flip and thus be able to do it while manoeuvring without having your arms flailing all over the place. You can do it without looking down as well. I'm still waiting for Tactile-IR or whatever to give those of us who are not in a position to replace the living room table with a home cockpit (I've tried!) the same ability. :D ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.

effte Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) effte, what country are you in, it works fine in Australia and New Zealand... :music_whistling: Western Europe. I have a nagging feeling that US lawyers can't be arsed to deal with countries where the official language isn't English. Getting to be rather annoying, in these days when overzealous DRM lawyers seem to rule the land. But you really do not want to get me started on the subject. I'll launch into a multipage diatribe! Then I'll go on to discussing the transport suppression agency and the liquid ban on airliners. By then, I will be a one-man DOS attack on the forum, swamping it to such a degree that noone else will be able to post... just don't make me go there! :D Edited February 6, 2011 by effte Spelink. ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.
