Headspace Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Ok firing onto targets with the gua 8. ..... Rounds still appear to hit ground away from target and still seconds later!!!! Sometimes they bounce off the ground and then land further out. It's normal.
BiPod Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Not sure what you're problem is, there is not much detail in your post. It may be the richochet as Headspace is suggesting (that's pretty cool), or perhaps you are using the wrong sight. The default gun reticle is the large circle on the hud, not the little "gun bore line cross". In low wind the gun is very accurate, and it is wind corrected. Beta 4 manual pg 361 "Guns Hud" section discusses this in much detail. Yes the rounds do take a long time to reach the target. BiPod.
rextar Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Ok will check thread but still not happy Intel i5 3.2 ghz 8 GB crucial ram gtx 660 superclocked 2gb 500watt corsair psu win7 64bit extreme pro track ir5 Turtle beach x12

lobo Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I think I know what you are talking about. Those are the richocheting rounds impacting downrange. It's not a bug it's a feature! :) Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/
Henchman14 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 You've got to remember, they're heavy cannon rounds. They take a while to get to the target.
Yoni63 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 If your talking about the delay from trigger pull to impact on target, that's just simple physics and it's realistic as it can get. Even firing a pistol on a 50 yard range has delay to a point where you can actually hear the round hit the paper target after the gun's report goes off. MTFDarkEagle Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I'm trying strongly not to involve quantum physics here :D J/k ;) Is the issue you are having when you fire your cannon, and a couple of 100 feet behind the target, the rounds seem to hit? If yes: it's a feature, as lobo describes :) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
lobo Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 First few times I saw the richoceting rounds impacting in front of me I took evasive action thinking there was a bandit (with really crappy aim) on my tail! Ok it was more than a few times... lol. Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/
Arclight Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Seems to be working well enough. :) ... Provided I hit it. Who knew spraying 200 rounds in a tanks general direction wasn't enough. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] DCS A-10C: putting the 'art' into 'warthog'. (yes, corny. Sorry.)
S77th-konkussion Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Ok will check thread but still not happy @about 3500 ft./sec a round will take about 3 seconds to hit when fired from 2 miles away. If your target is moving.. gotta account for that flight time.. what's the problem? [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
